Taslima Nasreen the Bangladeshi author deleted her recent "Boycott Islam" tweet after being viciously trolled and backlash on Twitter. A complaint also has been filed against her tweet. Saket Gokhale the RTI activist on Friday filed a complaint against Taslima with the Union Home Ministry for allegedly trying to spread communal hatred and disharmony in the country while staying in New Delhi on an Indian visa. Accused arrested in TRP scam case says he was ‘paid by Republic TV, News Nation’: Mumbai police

One of the suspected who was arrested by Mumbai police in the TRP manipulation scam has confessed that he had been “accepting money” from a Mumbai based news organisations Republic TV and News Nation to “distribute among households” who were asked to “keep certain channels on”. In a statement issued by Mumbai police, a report by Times of India said that the accused identified as Abhishek Kolwade. He runs a marketing firm named Max Media and was the 10th person arrested in the case. “The tenth person arrested is a resident of Thane. During the course of the investigation, he has confessed that he has been accepting money from at least two news channels (Republic and News Nation). The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, announced amendment in land laws to allow everyone in India to buy the land in Jammu and Kashmir which hitherto was exclusively meant for permanent resident of J&K. The ministry of home affairs said that the order will be called the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Adaptation of Central Laws) Third Order, 2020. A number of amendments have been carried out in the Jammu and Kashmir Development Act to allow the buying of land by anyone as words such as domicile or PRC holders find mention. Cow slaughter act is being misused against innocent persons: Allahabad HC

On Monday, the Allahabad High Court expressing its concern towards the Uttar Pradesh Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act 1955 said that law was being misused against innocent persons.  The court said, “Whenever any meat is recovered, it is normally shown as cow meat (beef) without getting it examined or analyzed by the Forensic Laboratory. In most of the cases, meat is not sent for analysis. Accused persons continue in jail for an offence that may not have been committed at all and which is triable by Magistrate Ist Class, having maximum sentence up to 7 years."  There has been several incidents when the meat recovered by authorities is presumed to be beef without any analysis or confirmation.
