Man sentenced to two years in cheque bounce case in Shopian

A local Court in Shopian has convicted and sentenced a man to two years of imprisonment in a cheque bounce case. An old Muslim couple was beaten to death with iron rods and sticks by their neighbours in Uttar Pradesh. Three people have been arrested in the case, and police say that the murder was allegedly a result of an affair between the victim's son and the daughter of one of the accused, reported NDTV. Minor boy from Srinagar slips to death in Hajin canal

A 2-year-old boy slipped to death into a canal in Hajin area of north Kashmir's Bandipora district on Saturday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the boy identified as Uzair Fayaz (2) son of Fayaz Ahmad of Srinager was crossing a culvert and accidentally fell into the canal. NIA arrests father-son duo during raids in Kupwara

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at three different locations in Kashmir and a house at Bhatindi in Jammu. Reports said that Mehraj-u-Din Sofi, 19, and his father Ghulam Mohammad Sofi were picked up by the NIA early morning from Kralpora village of Kupwara. 25-year-old woman allegedly hangs self in Bandipora

A woman from Quilmpora area of north Kashmir Bandipora district has allegedly committed suicide at her rented room. An official told the news agency Kashmir Scroll that a 25 year old life has taken her life by hanging herself at their rented accommodation in Quilmuqam during the intervening night. He said that police party reached to the spot and body has been taken to SDH Bandipora for medical formalities.
