A total of 347 police personnel have been awarded Police Medal for Gallantry on the occasion of India’s 76th Independence Day, J&K Police has been honoured with 108 medals, the highest number of medals among all the States and UT's. Two policeman were injured in a road mishap in Shalteng area of Srinagar on Saturday, reports said here. Reports reaching the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that Head Constable (HC) Ishfaq Ahmad and Constable (CT) Ghulam Murtaza were injured when they tried to stop Scooty during Naka checking at Shalteng, however, the scooty rider lost control and hit the cops. At least six CRPF paramilitary personnel sustained injuries in a road mishap in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, official sources said. They told GNS that two CRPF vehicles collided with each other in Waskura area, resulting in injuries to six paramilitary personnel.
