Jammu Kashmir Bank customers failed to make transactions as majority of the ATMs of the bank were out of order on Saturday. Jammu Kashmir Bank faces frequent snags in its mpay application, but today, it faced an outage at almost every ATM just ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. Scores of customers were seen waiting outside the ATMs on Residency Road in Srinagar. Customers left disappointed as they failed to make any transactions. “I was here to withdraw the cash, but the ATM didn’t work. I tried other ATMs as well but they were also out of order,” Javaid Ahmed, a bank customer told news agency Kashmir News Trust. Army trooper killed, 2 injured in Ganderbal road accident

An army soldier was killed and two others injured when an army vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident at Gadribal Ganiwan area of Central Kashmir's Ganderbal on Saturday. Official sources told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the army bus was vehicle part of a convoy that turned turtle near Masjid Mode Sumbal Bala Gund area of Kangan. Centre spends over Rs 9,000 crore on security in J-K till 2021 since the abrogation of Article 370

In 28 months since the abrogation of Article 370, the Centre spent over Rs 9,000 crore, especially on security expenditure, in the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir. The amount was paid to the Jammu and Kashmir government under the security-related expenditure (police) scheme since the inception of the UT on August 5, 2019, the day when Jammu and Kashmir was bifurcated into two Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, and Articles 370 and 35 (A) were nullified that gave the erstwhile state its special status and the mandate to define its domicile rules. Patients on oxygen concentrators at home suffer in the face of power outages

With J&K hit by worst power outages, patients dependent on oxygen concentrators at their home are facing severe distress. Hundreds of home-bound patients especially patients suffering from chronic diseases such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Asthma and heart related issues who survive on oxygen concentrators are suffering as in absence of electricity they are unable to run these concentrators which in turn deteriorates the condition of patient. A close relative of an elderly woman from Anantnag who is suffering from asthma and is being administered oxygen at home said that in order to keep the concentrator running, they have hired an electric generator. Youth injured after being attacked by ‘gangsters’ in Sopore area

A gang of boys attacked a youth in Sopore town last evening, causing severe injuries to him, even as police have arrested two accused so far.
