August 03 Umar Nazir Malik, the district commander of Lashkar e Taiba has been reportedly killed in a gunfight that raged late night in Kiloora area of Shopian District in South Kashmir. Umar had joined Lashkar e Taiba in 2017 and had been allegedly involved in many Militant activities. He was killed in a gun battle that raged when Government Forces cordoned off the Kiloora area in Shopian following a specific input about Militant movement in the area. After a brief exchange of gunfire, Umar was hit with a bullet and killed. The troops including 44 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF are now jointly conducting search operations in the area.

July 23 A youth identified as Shakir Ahmed has been critically wounded during Intense clashes in Khudwani area of South kashmirs Kulgam District on Monday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that massive stone throwing clashes erupted after forces launched a CASO in the wani Mohalla area of Khudwani. The youth as per hospital sources has been hit with a tear smoke shell in his head and has been shifted to Srinagar for specialised treatment from District Hospital Islamabad. July 17 Manan Wani, the PhD scholar from Aligarh Muslim University who has joined Hizb ul Mujahideen Militant ranks has written a letter which has been circulated widely on Social Networking. The 26-year-old research, Manan was a student of Applied Geology at Aligarh Muslim University before he had gone missing in January only to appear on social media holding a grenade launcher.
