Minhaj ul Quran, Religious Organizations Pay tributes to Qazi Nisar

June 20 Various Socio-Religious organizations paid their tributes to the slain Mirwaiz of South Kashmir, Dr. Qazi Nisar Ahmed on his anniversary. The local unit of Minhaj ul Quran headed by world famous Pakistani cleric, Tahir ul Qadri said that  Dr. Qazi Nisar was a symbol for bravery in the whole of Jammu Kashmir and his open stance against the then Governor Jagmohan in 1985 is a testimony to that. "Qazi Nisar is still treated as a symbol of honesty and bravery which stands a testimonial to the fact that his killers never succeeded in what they intended to do. He will remain in the hearts of those who have seen him and even those who have never seen him," their statement read. Soura Shuts for 5th Consecutive Day as Local Boy Stays Critical

June 20 Khan Ovais Soura areas are observing a complete shutdown in Srinagar on Wednesday as a local youth who was injured in clashes on the evening of Eid continued to be critical for the 5th Day. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 24-year-old youth, Abdul Majeed was critically injured during clashes with the government forces in Soura area when police and paramilitary forces fired teargas shells and pellets. The youth admitted at SKIMS Soura has received critical head injuries. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that shops, Business establishments, Oil stations are shut in the area while traffic movement is very thin.

June 19 Jahangeer Ganie Two Militants have been killed in an encounter between militants & forces at Hayuna Tral in South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Wednesday. Militants had earlier opened fire on an army patrol of 42 RR at Hayuna of south Kashmir's Tral sub-district, Sources told The Kashmiriyat. Immediately the troops cordoned off the area, triggering an encounter. As per initial reports available to The Kashmiriyat 2 to 3 militants are likely to be trapped. One More Militant is believed to be hiding as two Militants have already been shot dead.

Civilian Shot at in Islamabad’s Sirigufwara

June 19 A civilian was shot at allegedly by Indian Army as they opened fire upon civilians in Sirigufwara area of South Kashmir's Islamabad District. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a vegetable seller was shot by Army after a firecracker burst near their vehicle in the area. Upon this the Army came down from their vehicles and opened fire, the civilian alleged. However the Police said that Fire was opened upon Army and they responded. 'We do not know whose fire injured him,"a police official told The Kashmiriyat. The civilian has been shifted to a hospital, his condition is stated to be critical.

June 19 An Encounter started between militants & forces at Hayuna Tral in South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Wednesday. Militants had earlier attacked army patrol of 42 RR at Hayuna of south Kashmir's Tral sub-district, Sources told The Kashmiriyat. Immediately the troops cordoned off the area and the hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter. As per initial reports available to The Kashmiriyat 2 to 3 militants are likely to be trapped. Meanwhile Massive Clashes have erupted in Tral as the news of encounter reached there.

June 19 (Image Used for Representation) Jahangeer Ganie The Government forces laid down a Cordon and search operation in Nazneenpora Hayuna of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama District on Wednesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 42RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF laid down the Search operation jointly. “The Operation was launched after troopers received a specific input about Militant movement in the area,” Sources said. Clashes erupted after the Government Forces launched the CASO in the Tral Nazneenpora area. A Door to door search operation has been launched in the area. Meanwhile the Government Forces have also launched a CASO in Hajin,  area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District. Details Emerging.

South Kashmir Shuts to Remember Qazi Nisar

June 19 Photo/ Umer Fayaz A Complete shutdown is being observed in Pulwama, Kulgam, Parts of Shopian and Islamabad (Anantnag) District to commemorate the anniversary of slain Mirwaiz of South Kashmir, Dr. Qazi Nisar. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that educational institutes have shut, Oil stations closed while Restrictions have been imposed in the township of Islamabad, Achabal, Kulgam while concertina wires have been placed at all the entry points of Islamabad township. Dr. Qazi Nisar was assassinated by unidentified gunmen in 1994 on June 19.

Nocturnal Raid at the house of Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir

June 18 The Jammu Kashmir Police late night on Tuesday raided the house of Mirwaiz Qazi Ahmed yasir in South Kashmir's Islamabad. A Police party raided the house around 11:15 pm to arrest Mirwaiz Qazi Yasir from his house, who is scheduled to lead a pro Freedom rally tomorrow. The Police was unable to arrest Mirwaiz as he has gone into a hiding and will lead a pro Freedom rally tomorrow from islamabad's Jamia Masjid tomorrow after Zuhr prayers. The Ummat e Islami has also called for a complete shutdown on the anniversary of slain Mirwaiz of South Kashmir, Qazi Nisar Ahmed.

June 18 (Image Used for Representation) Jahangeer Ganie The Government Forces Launched a Cordon and Search Operation around Bus Stand Tral in South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Official Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 42 RR of Indian Army launched the operation. Meanwhile intense clashes are going on in Samboora area of Pulwama District. Clashes began when youth shouting pro Freedom Slogans hurled stones on Government Forces and Protesters. The Troops used tear smoke shells to disperse protesting youth, However normalcy had been restored when the report was filed.

June 18 One civilian has been killed in firing upon protesters in Nowapora Akhran area of South Kashmir's Kulgam District on Tuesday evening. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that two civilians were injured when Army opened fire upon protesting civilians in the area.
