Four Local Militants likely trapped at Islamabad encounter site

June 22 Four local Militants linked to Tehreek Up Mujahideen are believed to be trapped at the encounter site. Highly placed sources told The Kashmiriyat that four militants who are all locals have been engaged in a Gunfight with Government Forces. They identified the Militants as Adil, Majid, Khalid and Dawood. They told The Kashmiriyat that two of them are from shilpora and hidgam of Sirigufwara while one is from Srinagar. Massive firing was going on when this report was filed. A local from Sirigufwara told The Kashmiriyat that massive clashes are going on at the encounter site.

June 22 Intense Clashes have erupted in Sirigufwara area of Bijbehara in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that thousands of civilians including men and women have hit the streets trying to give a chance to trapped militants to escape. Shouting Pro Freedom and Pro Militants slogans, people have hit the streets throwing stones on Government Forces, they said. Adding that pro Freedom Taranas are being played throughout mosques in the area. The forces fired tear smoke shells, pellets and Pava shells to unsuccessfully disperse the protesters. Lady injured at encounter site, Internet suspended in Islamabad

June 22 Mobile Internet services have been barred in Islamabad (Anantnag) District as the gunfight in Sirigufwara area of the District continues. Meanwhile a lady named, Rafiqa has sustained a bullet injury in the exchange of fire as per officials. She has been shifted to the Hospital for treatment, her condition is started to be critical. The gunfight meanwhile is going on with heavy exchange of gunfire. Suspension of internet during gunfights has been a norm in the recent past as officials believe that it's a necessary step to avoid rumour mongering.

Encounter Rages in Sirigufwara, 3 Militants likely trapped

June 22 An encounter has started between Militants and Government Forces in Sirigufwara, Bijbehara area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) District. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly launched the operation. During the early morning search operation the Militants fired on a patrolling party of Government forces triggering a Gunfight. June 21 A cordon and search operation has been launched in Watergam area of Dialgam in Islamabad (Anantnag) District in South Kashmir. The 19RR of Indian Army, SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police have launched the operation jointly. Another South Kashmir youth picks up Gun

June 21 Another Youth from South Kashmir' has joined Militant ranks making him reportedly the 85th youth to have joined Militant ranks this year. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Mohammed Shariq, a resident of Tral area in Pulwama has joined Militant outfit, Jaish e Muhammad. The 23 year old was missing from his home in Hari Tral area of Pulwama. South Kashmir have been joining Militancy swiftly since the three encounters of April 01 when 13 Militants were killed in a single day. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that they're checking the authenticity of the photo that has appeared on the internet.

June 20 One Armed Policeman was reportedly killed while two others injured When suspevted Militants opened fire on a Police party. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown gunmen opened fire on a Police patrol party near Galandar area of pampore. Three policemen were injured while one of them succumbed to his injuries. June 20 Various Socio-Religious organizations paid their tributes to the slain Mirwaiz of South Kashmir, Dr. Qazi Nisar Ahmed on his anniversary. The local unit of Minhaj ul Quran headed by world famous Pakistani cleric, Tahir ul Qadri said that  Dr. Qazi Nisar was a symbol for bravery in the whole of Jammu Kashmir and his open stance against the then Governor Jagmohan in 1985 is a testimony to that. June 20 Khan Ovais Soura areas are observing a complete shutdown in Srinagar on Wednesday as a local youth who was injured in clashes on the evening of Eid continued to be critical for the 5th Day. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 24-year-old youth, Abdul Majeed was critically injured during clashes with the government forces in Soura area when police and paramilitary forces fired teargas shells and pellets.
