April 21 (Image Used For Representation) Clashes erupted on Saturday between students and government forces in north Kashmir’s Sopore town area of Baramulla district. Local sources said that the clashes erupted at main chowk Sopore after students of High School Jamia Qadeem Sopore held a peaceful protest rally inside the school premises. However, after some time the protesting students took the march outside the school premises and marched through different areas of the town. Drug peddler Arrested in North Kashmir

April 21 The Jammu Kashmir Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered cannabis in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district. As Per Police official, Acting on a tip-off, a Naka (checkpoint) was set up at Paribal crossing Aloosa in Bandipora district. The Naka party challenged a person and during his search, 620 grams of powdered form of cannabis was recovered from his possession. The Person has been identified as Farooq Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Hassan Dar resident of Nathpora, Bandipora. He was arrested immediately.

April 21 Jahangeer Ganie A Cordon and Search Operation has been launched by Government Forces in Mir Mohallah Ratnipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District. Officials confirmed to The Kashmiriyat that 55 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir police and CRPF launched the operation after receiving specific inputs about presence of Militants in the area. Anganwadi workers Tear gas shelled in Ganderbal

April 21 Police on Saturday used Smoke shells and batons to disperse the protesting Anganwari workers and helpers demanding release of pending wages and regularization of their services. Hundreds of workers and helpers are on strike for the past three months demanding regularization of services and early release of their pending wages. The Anganwadi workers earlier assembled at Eidgah Beehama and later marched towards the DC office to press the government over their demands. They later held a sit-in on Beehama-Safapora road and blocked the road and chanted slogans in favour of their demands. April 21 Massive fire broke out in the holy shrine of Hazrat Ali in Najaf area of Iraq. Reports suggested that fire engulfed the Shrine at 1230 pm is spreading further. Clashes Erupt in Pulwama, Budgam

April 21 Clashes erupted between youth and government forces in Muran area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday. Scores of youth threw stones on a Survey team of Indian Army at Murran area of in south Kashmir, Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat. The protesting youth threw stones on the government forces resulting in clashes. Meanwhile clashes also erupted in Chadoora area of Central Kashmir's Budgam District to protest the Killings. The recent reports indicate a sharp increase in the number of local youth joining militant ranks in the Valley. According to the police reports, one youth every third day joins the militant ranks. The figure of local youth joining militancy in 2017 was 126, a sharp increase from 88 in 2016. This is the highest in the past seven years.
