April 20 Jahangeer Ganaie The dangerous trend of lining up with militant ranks has continued in southern districts as more qualified youth have joined the militant outfits during the last three days. The recent reports indicate a sharp increase in the number of local youth joining militant ranks in the Valley. According to the police reports, one youth every third day joins the militant ranks. The figure of local youth joining militancy in 2017 was 126, a sharp increase from 88 in 2016. This is the highest in the past seven years. The numbers began to increase after the violent summer of 2016, post the killing of Hizbul commander, Burhan Wani. High Speed Internet to Be Restored today evening

April 20 High speed mobile Internet services will be restored in Kashmir today evening after remaining blocked for the whole day. The services were snapped early morning and were reduced down at a few places as a preventive measure/ Mobile Internet services will be restored late evening today, a Telecom official told The Kashmiriyat.

"Many trees have fell down and damaged a residential house of Mushtaq Ahmed, " A local told The Kashmiriyat. A shop of Sikander malik was also damaged in the windstorm. The windstorm has created panic in the entire area as many trees have fell down. April 20 A Youth identified as Shabnam Rasool Wani son of Ghulam Rasool wani who was going for tuition in Parraypora died early morning on Friday. As Per Police Officials the youth a resident of Munar Yaripora was in class 11th and was residing in Hyderpora. "Today Morning the youth was complaining of health issues after which he was rushed to a hospital, but he died on the way," a Police official posted in Kulgam told The Kashmiriyat. Missing youth from Brari Angan has likely Joined Militants

April 20 (Image Used for Representation) A 23 Year old youth, Zahoor Ahmed Haji, a resident of Brari Angan in South Kashmir's Islamabad District has joined Militants. Zahoor was studying in a Darul uloom in Pinjoora area of South Kashmir's Shopian District, family sources told The Kashmiriyat. "He left home on Tuesday to visit his relatives in Fatehpora area of Islamabad and has been missing since then," a local of Brariangan told The Kashmiriyat. Weapon snatched in Pinjoora recovered

April 19 Jahangeer Ganie The weapon that had been snatched by unknown persons today in Pinjoora Shopian has been recovered, Sources told The Kashmiriyat. Unknown persons on Thursday had snatched a service rifle from a bank guard at Pinjora in south Kashmir’s Shopian district. A group of unarmed unidentified persons overpowered the ATM guard and snatched his service rifle (12- bore). Police said that on the basis of accurate human & technical inputs the boys were identified. The said gun was recovered and boys were let off after proper counselling, the police officials told The Kashmiriyat.
