Medical students oppose Admin’s decision of pooling of MBBS seats in Jammu Kashmir
The administration's decision to combine MBBS and post-graduate seats in the all-India quota beginning with the current session has been contested by the medical students in Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu Kashmir admin recently ordered that 50% of PG course seats and 15% of MBBS seats will be shared in the All India Quota (AIQ), evoking sharp criticism from medical students.
The students said that by enrolling non-local medical students in undergraduate and graduate programmes the admin is risking the future of local medical students.
"Only Jammu Kashmir-based students should be qualified for postgraduate and undergraduate positions as we already have a less number of seats in the region," a student said.
