Medical students oppose Admin’s decision of pooling of MBBS seats in Jammu Kashmir

The administration's decision to combine MBBS and post-graduate seats in the all-India quota beginning with the current session has been contested by the medical students in Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu Kashmir admin recently ordered that 50% of PG course seats and 15% of MBBS seats will be shared in the All India Quota (AIQ), evoking sharp criticism from medical students. The students said that by enrolling non-local medical students in undergraduate and graduate programmes the admin is risking the future of local medical students. Four persons arrested in Srinagar, cash and gold recovered: Police

Police arrested four accused and recovered stolen cash and gold from them in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, Local news agency Kashmir News Trust reported. The theft incident had occurred during the intervening night of 18 and 19 this month in the two houses belonging to Ashiq Ahmad Mir and Muzafar Ahmad Famda, both residents of Kullan area of Gund Kangan. After registration of case and subsequent investigation by police station Gund, police arrested four accused out of which three hail from Central Kashmir’s Budgam district. Police attach residential house in Bandipora for ‘sheltering’ militants

Police in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district have attached a residential house for wilfully sheltering and harbouring militants after obtaining sanction from competent authority.
