Meer Irfan On Tuesday morning, suspected militants shot two brothers belonging to the minority community. During this attack, one brother died on the spot and the other was injured in the Chotigam area of south Kashmir's Shopian district. The deceased was identified as Sunil Kumar son of Arjun Nath and his brother Pintu Kumar was injured in the attack. Abdul Qayoom, neighbor of the duo, said that Sunil Kumar has four daughters, while Pintu has one son studying in 10th class and a daughter studying in 11th class. Meanwhile, official sources told The Kashmiriyat that the area has been cordoned off.

A policeman was injured after militants hurled grenade at Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir on Monday later evening, police said here. Srinagar, Aug 14, KDC: Police on Sunday said that scooter allegedly used by two militants of LeT along with an AK rifle and two grenades were recovered following a gunfight at Nowhatta area of Srinagar. A policeman, Constable Sarfaraz Ahmad of Batote Ramban, and unidentified militant were injured in the gunfight, according to police. “Vehicle (scooter) used by two (militants) of LeT seized from the incident site. Rushdie (75) was attacked while speaking at an event in New York state and was in a critical condition.
