A CBI court in Jammu and Kashmir has issued summons to Rubaiya Sayeed, daughter of former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed, to appear before it on July 15 in a case related to her abduction in 1989, officials said on Friday. This is the first time that Rubaiya Sayeed has been asked to appear in the case. She had been freed after five militants were released in exchange. A day after a Delhi court awarded life imprisonment to Yasin Malik in a militant funding case, Tihar prison authorities here on Thursday said the separatist leader has been kept in a separate cell under heavy security. "For security reasons, Mailk may not be assigned any work in the jail. He has been kept in a separate cell in jail number seven under heavy security. His security will be regularly monitored and reviewed from time to time," a senior jail official said. Malik will also not be entitled to any parole or furlough since he is a convict in a case of terror funding, jail officials said. Twelve passengers, including five children, trapped inside an overturned mini-bus following an accident were rescued by the Army and provided necessary medical assistance here, a defence spokesperson said on Tuesday.ar Two passenger mini-buses collided with each other on the Shyok-Durbuk road on Monday, following which one of the vehicles turned turtle, he said. 53-year old man jumps into the river in Srinagar

A 53-year old man ended his life by jumping into the river Jehlum at Budshah Bridge of Kashmir capital Srinagar. Family sources of the victim told news agency Kashmir News Trust that he jumped into the river during the intervening night. The victim whose body has yet to be retrieved has been identified as Nisar Ahmed Mughal son of Late Habibullah Mughal, a resident of Maharaja Bazar Srinagar. The Legal Metrology department today seized and registered cases against two petrol pumps for delivering a shorter quantity of fuel to the consumers. In one of the cases, it was observed that 6 Nozzles of a Petrol Pump located on National Highway at  Srinagar were delivering short fuel by about 30 ml against every 5 Litres. All the Nozzles of the outlet  were seized on spot and the case was  registered under section 30 of Legal Metrology Act, 2009.
