Administration on Monday ordered removal from services of Naveen Jamwal, Civil Judge (junior division) with immediate effect. According to an order passed by the order of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the action against Jamwal follows recommendations of the Full court of High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. “The Lieutenant Governor is pleased to order the removal of Naveen Jamwal, Civil Judge (junior division)/Munsiff from service with immediate effect,” the order, a copy of which lies with GNS, reads. Legal metrology seizes 2 petrol pumps for short delivery

The Legal Metrology department today seized and registered cases against two petrol pumps for delivering a shorter quantity of fuel to the consumers. In one of the cases, it was observed that 6 Nozzles of a Petrol Pump located on National Highway at  Srinagar were delivering short fuel by about 30 ml against every 5 Litres. All the Nozzles of the outlet  were seized on spot and the case was  registered under section 30 of Legal Metrology Act, 2009. The department has earlier received a complaint from the consumers in which it was alleged that few Petrol Pumps across Srinagar  were indulging in unfair trade practices and were looting Consumers by using various tricks against them. A few students of Government Gandhi Memorial College on Friday recited Hanuman Chalisa in protest against the use of loudspeakers by a local mosque in Jammu, officials said. However, police later stopped them from reciting Hanuman Chalisa and detained half-a-dozen students, though they were later let free. The students alleged that they were studying in classrooms, and there was the use of loudspeakers by a local mosque which created "noise pollution" and triggered the student who later staged protests stating that there was a "disturbance" to their studies at the GGM College.
