Bike rider injured in Ganderbal road mishap

A bike rider was injured in a road accident at Watalbagh Lar area of Ganderbal district. An official told local news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that injured was rushed to PHC Lar and later was shifted to SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment. The injured has been identified as Adil Ahmed Lone S/o Ghulam Nabi Lone R/o Check Akhal. According to eye witnesses the bike collided with fast moving tipper. Two foreign militants have been killed in the encounter between government forces and militants in Beshembar Nagar of Central Kashmir's Srinagar district on Sunday. Police officials said that two militants were killed during the exchange of gunfire. "Two Pakistani militants associated with Lashkar e Taiba have been killed in Bishambher Nagar encounter," the inspector General of police said. On Sunday, the joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Beshembar Nagar during which the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight, Police said. During the exchange of gunfire, two militants have been killed and three Government force personnel injured.

Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr. Piyush Singla (IAS) today placed Naib Tehsildar Ranbirbora, Tehsil Anantnag East (Mattan) under suspension for dereliction of duty. The Naib Tehsildar has been placed under suspension for unauthorized absence from duty. It is in place to mention that several guidelines have been issued from time to time directing public officials to attend to duties on a regular basis. The Deputy Commissioner said that a regular vigil is being maintained on attendance in various public offices and any employees found absent will face similar penal action.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jammu and Kashmir later this month, his first trip to the union territory since the abrogation of Article 370, quoting a senior BJP functionary PTI reported. He will address a conference of local body representatives in Samba on National Panchayati Raj Day on April 24, Jammu and Kashmir BJP General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Kaul said while addressing a function of Kashmiri Pandits here. Kaul said efforts are being made for a meeting between the prime minister and representatives of the Kashmiri Pandit community so that they can raise their concerns with him. In August 2019, the Centre abrogated Jammu and Kashmir’s special status under Article 370 of the Constitution, and bifurcated it into union territories.

Suhail Dar The fuel prices are soaring across India, with petrol prices crossing the 103 rupee mark in New Delhi. On Monday, India registered the 12th hike in fuel prices since March 22. The petrol prices were hiked by 40 Paise per litre taking the total hike in the past twelve days to Rs 8,40 per litre. On April 04, the petrol prices in Anantnag stood at ₹107.95 a litre and the diesel prices have climbed to ₹91.35 a litre. In Srinagar, the petrol prices after Monday's hike is being sold at ₹108.97 per litre and the price of diesel has gone upto ₹92.17. The hike has caused anguish among the general public.
