The Jammu Kashmir Police on Tuesday claimed to have busted two militant modules of proscribed outfit JeM and arrested 11 accused persons. The Jammu Kashmir Police in its statement said Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition have been recovered from their possession. Journalists acting in a manner prejudicial to the country’s “security, sovereignty and integrity” as well as “public order, decency or morality” will lose their Government accreditation, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has said in its new guidelines. The Central Media Accreditation Guidelines-2022, announced on Monday, also lays down guidelines for the accreditation of journalists working for online news platforms. News aggregators are not being considered for accreditation, the Government said. At least seven passengers travelling in a bus were injured after an ill-fated vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Ramban district on Tuesday. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the accident of bus bearing registration number JK02A-3187 took place at Thangrote in Teryath tehsil of Rajouri district. Seven passengers were injured in the accident who include Jameet Singh, Sushma Devi, Supria Devi, Jameer Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Shashi kumari and Kamal Singh. An encounter broke out between militants and security forces at Nambal village of Awantipora hamlet in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday evening. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area. He said that as the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter. A 52-year-old porter died after falling from a tree at Banpat sector of Poonch, officials said Monday. They identified him as Trilok Kumar Bali son of Sunder Dass Bali of Jhulass Poonch. They said he was porter with Army at Banpat sector Poonch. The body was brought to District hospital Poonch for medico-legal formalities.
