Meer Irfan Three truck-bound Kashmiris were robbed of 99,000 rupees and three mobile phones in Delhi's Azadpur Mandi on Sunday morning. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat Gowhar Yousuf of the Drubgam area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir said that they were asleep when the thieves stole three mobile phones and cash of over 99,000 from their vehicle. "We reached Azadpur Mandi around 6:30 A.M on Sunday morning, however, they do not allow trucks to get inside the Mandi on Sundays, so we decided to sleep inside the truck. At around 10 A.M, a friend of ours woke us up and we saw that the front glass of the truck had been taken off and we had been robbed," Gowhar said. At least two residential houses were damaged in a fire incident in Guzarbal area of Noorbagh in summer capital Srinagar on Monday morning. Reports reaching news agency Kashmir Dot Com said that two residential houses were gutted in a fire incident in the Guzarbal area this morning. They said that fire tenders doused the flames on time and prevented any further damage. However, there was no loss of life or injury reported in this incident. A police officer also confirmed the fire mishap and said, cognizance of the incident has been taken, and the cause of fire was not immediately known, however investigation has been set into motion. On Wednesday a new-born baby was found abandoned in sub-district hospital Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district even as police have registered a case in this regard. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that an unidentified woman delivered a female baby and left it abandoned in the washroom of the hospital during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. "The parents of the baby couldn’t be located till now, while the baby has been laid to rest and an inquiry into matter has been initiated,” he said. An avalanche hit a village in the Gurez sector in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, and officials issued an avalanche warning for 12 more districts in the region. There was no loss of life or damage to property, however, following the avalanche in Jhurniya village in Gurez in Bandipora district, officials said. The minimum temperature recorded a slight drop at most places but hovered above normal even as fog engulfed parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, officials said. Shubam Sangra, declared an adult by the Supreme Court, is formally chargesheeted by the Jammu and Kashmir Polices crime branch in a case related to the sensational gangrape and murder case of an eight-year-old in Kathua in 2018. Though the trial is expected to start in neighbouring Punjabs Pathankot, as ordered by the Supreme Court in 2018, the crime branch submitted its charge sheet under various sections including those related to murder, rape, kidnapping and wrongful confinement before chief judicial magistrate in Kathua. State Investigation Unit (SIU) of police on Thursday carried out searches at various locations in frontier North Kashmir's Kupwara district, officials said. They told GNS that sleuths alongside Naib Tehsildar reached Mirnag in Manzhar area and conducted searches of a house. Similarly the team alongside DySP DAR Kupwara reached Kanibakh Batpora and conducted searches at another house.
