A man lost both of his limbs after ‘attempting suicide’ on coming on tracks of a moving train in the Sadoora area in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said. Quoting officials news agency GNS reported that a man ‘jumped in front’ of a moving train, on way from Banihal to Baramulla, near Sadoora, resulting in him losing both his limbs. The official identified the person as Mohammad Ashraf Itoo a resident of Gopalpora Mattan. The police has taken cognizance of the incident for necessary investigations.

Police on Monday claimed to have arrested two Jaish-e-Mohammad militant associates along with a huge cache of arms and ammunition in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. In a statement, the police said that on specific input regarding the delivery of a consignment of weapons in the general area of Pulwama, a special team of Pulwama Police & Army ( 55RR) was formed and deployed in covert at different suspicious locations. Meer Irfan Three truck-bound Kashmiris were robbed of 99,000 rupees and three mobile phones in Delhi's Azadpur Mandi on Sunday morning. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat Gowhar Yousuf of the Drubgam area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir said that they were asleep when the thieves stole three mobile phones and cash of over 99,000 from their vehicle. "We reached Azadpur Mandi around 6:30 A.M on Sunday morning, however, they do not allow trucks to get inside the Mandi on Sundays, so we decided to sleep inside the truck. At around 10 A.M, a friend of ours woke us up and we saw that the front glass of the truck had been taken off and we had been robbed," Gowhar said. At least two residential houses were damaged in a fire incident in Guzarbal area of Noorbagh in summer capital Srinagar on Monday morning. Reports reaching news agency Kashmir Dot Com said that two residential houses were gutted in a fire incident in the Guzarbal area this morning. They said that fire tenders doused the flames on time and prevented any further damage. However, there was no loss of life or injury reported in this incident. A police officer also confirmed the fire mishap and said, cognizance of the incident has been taken, and the cause of fire was not immediately known, however investigation has been set into motion. On Wednesday a new-born baby was found abandoned in sub-district hospital Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district even as police have registered a case in this regard. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that an unidentified woman delivered a female baby and left it abandoned in the washroom of the hospital during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. "The parents of the baby couldn’t be located till now, while the baby has been laid to rest and an inquiry into matter has been initiated,” he said. Earth's average surface temperature in 2022 tied with 2015 as the fifth warmest year on record, according to an analysis by US space agency NASA, which termed the situation as "alarming". The global temperatures in 2022 were 1.6-degree Fahrenheit (0.89-degree Celsius) above the average for NASA's baseline period (1951-1980), scientists from NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) in New York reported. "This warming trend is alarming. Our warming climate is already making a mark: Forest fires are intensifying; hurricanes are getting stronger; droughts are wreaking havoc and sea levels are rising," said NASA Administrator Bill Nelson.
