Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that suspected militant had planted an 18 kilogram IED on the Bandipora—Sopore road near Ashtangoo. The Road from Mandujan to Adijan in south Kashmir's Shopian district is in a dilapidated condition, causing inconvenience to commuters traveling on the stretch. A Local speaking to The Kashmiriyat said, "In absence of repairs, potholes have developed on a large stretch of the road making it difficult to travel on the road." He said that the road has countless potholes, making the purpose of the road a failure. Moreover, things get even worse during the rainy season when potholes are not visible due to the poor drainage system, and the area becomes heavily accident prone. The residents of Mandujan appealed to the District Administration to look into the matter soon.
