Despite paying the lease amount and rent since August last year, district administration Pulwama has not given possession of land to the Unit Holders who want to set up their units at Industrial Growth Centre Lassipora. At least 8 Unit Holders have taken 15 Kanal lands each on lease and for which every Unit Holder has paid Rs 4.50 lakh per Kanal. “Besides the lease amount, we have been paying rent since August last year and despite fulfilling all the formalities, no possession of land has been given to us,” one of the Unit Holders from South Kashmir’s Pulwama district told news agency Kashmir News Trust. Pulwama reports 200 cases of lumpy skin disease among cattle

At least 200 lumpy skin disease cases in the cattle have been reported in south Kashmir's Pulwama district so far. Top officials of the animal husbandry department told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that over 200 cases of lumpy disease have been reported among cattle in different areas of Pulwama district. They said that among them 11 have died who have been buried by following all SoPs besides that around 112 have already recovered and rest are active. Student hangs self to death in Pulwama

An 11th-class student was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside his room at his residential house in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Reports said that 18-year-old student (name withheld), a resident of Malwari, Newa Pulwama allegedly hung himself to death on Thursday. He was shifted to District Hospital Pulwama where doctors declared him brought dead. Police have taken cognizance and initiated proceedings under law. (KNT)

Two local JeM militants were killed in a gunfight that broke out between militants and government forces at Gundipora village of Pingelan area in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Sunday. A woman died after she collapsed while singing in her son's wedding in the Murran area of south Kashmir's Pulwama’s district. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that Haneefa Banoo, a resident of Pulwama's Murran was singing on a standing mic on the Mehdiraat of her son, when she suddenly collapsed in the tent. They said that the other women in the tent surprised at what was happening took it as a normal gesture, but when she did not get up for a few seconds, the locals rushed her to the nearby hospital where she was declared brought dead. The incident has created a grief across Kashmir and a video from the incident has gone viral across social media.
