Civilian Fired at by Unknown Gunmen in Pulwama

February 13 A civilian was fired upon by unknown gunmen in Tral area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday evening unknown gunmen fired upon Lateef Ahmad Ganie near his residence in Nowpora Tral. Lateef was immediately rushed to the Sub District hospital in Awantipora in an injured condition for treatment. Police officials were unavailable for comments.

Clashes Erupt in Pulwama After Students Injured in an Explosion

February 13 Clashes have erupted in Kakapora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday after 19 students were injured following a mysterious blast inside a school. As per reports policemen arrived in Narbal village soon after the blast inside a school left 17 students injured. However, youth threw  stones on police as they were heading towards the school. The policemen in return resorted to tear gas shelling to disperse the protesters, triggering further clashes. The injured students were shifted to PHC Kakapora and district hospital Pulwama for treatment. Some injured were shifted to Srinagar for specialised treatment. Thousands Join the Funeral of Slain Pulwama Militant

February 12 Thousands of people on Tuesday reached Pulwama to attend the funeral prayers of a local Hizb militant who was killed in an encounter  in Ratnipora area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that thousands of people defying the cold thronged the native of Hilal Ahmad in Gandibagh in Rajpora, Pulwama to attend the funeral of the slain Militant. Locals said that the body of Hilal was recovered from the encounter site in Ratnipora village of Pulwama on Tuesday evening. “Four round of funeral prayers were offered by tens of thousands of people for the slain militant,” eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat. Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed in Pulwama against the killing of the Militant.

Militant Killed in Pulwama had Helped Naveed Jatt Escape from Srinagar Hospital

February 12 Hilal Ahmed Rather, the militants slain in a gunfight at Ratnipora in Pulwama district had hekped Naveed Jatt escape from the Police custody in Srinagar's SMHS Hospital. In February 2018, Naveed Jatt, a Pakistani Militant, who was later killed in November 2018 had escaped from SMHS hospital while he was being brought for treatment from Srinagar's Central Jail. After Hilal was spotted in the CCTV Footage available to the Police, Hilal too went missing from home and joined Militancy in February 2018. As per Police, Hilal  was working as over ground worker with Militants and soon Hilal went into hiding and actively joined the militant ranks and was affiliated himself with Hizb-ul-Mujahideen. South Kashmir Militant Killed in Pulwama Encounter

February 12 One Militant has been killed in an encounter that raged in ratnipora area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Tuesday morning. The body of the Militant killed in encounter has been recovered along with a rifle. He has been identified as Hilal Ahmed Rather son of Ghulam Mohammed Rather, a resident of Begumbagh in Kakpora area of Pulwama. The encounter was jointly conducted by 50 RR, 182 BN of CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police. The operation has ended amid clashes in the area. Hilal had joined Militancy in February last year and was associated with Hizb ul Mujahideen.

Pulwama Encounter Over- 1 Militant Killed, 2 Escape, 2 Army Men Also killed

February 12 One Militant and two Government Force peronnel have been killed in the encounter in Pulwama. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that Militants opened fire on a joint party of 50 RR, 182 Battalion of CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police who were conducting a search operation in the area. Following inputs about Militant presence in the area  the Forces had launched the CASO. At around, 6 am, the Militants opened fire on Forces, who retailed, triggering an encounter. February 11 Intense Clashes have erupted between protesters and government forces erupted in Ratnipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district where a gunfight between militants and forces is underway. A Local told The Kashmiriyat that on Tuesday hundreds of protesters including women assembled and pelted stones on forces who responded to intense tear smoke shelling. Announcements are being made on loudspeakers in the mosques asking others to come out, a local told The Kashmiriyat. February 12 An Encounter started between militants and Government forces in Ratnipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 50 RR of Indian Army, 182 BN of CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police were fired upon by Militants during a cordon and search operation in the area. Immediately the troops cordoned off the area during which the holed up Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter. February 11 A cordon and search operation (CASO) has been launched by Government Forces in Rajpora  area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Monday, 55 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police jointly launched a search operation in Bellow Area of Rajpora in South Kashmir's Pulwama District.
