CRPF Man Killed in Ongoing Tral Encounter

January 05 A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man injured during a gunfight at Aripal village of Tral has succumbed to his injuries. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a CRPF man who was injured in the initial exchange of gunfire at Aripal Tral on Saturday morning has succumbed to his injures. He was shifted to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The deceased has been identified as Mahesh Kumar of 180 Battalion of CRPF. Meanwhile the encounter between Government Forces and Militants is still on amid massive clashes in the Aripal area. A top Militant commander of Hizb is also trapped at the site of the encounter, As per initial reports.

January 05 Intense Clashes have erupted between protesters and government forces erupted in Aripal area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district where a gunfight between militants and forces is underway. A Local told The Kashmiriyat that on Saturday hundreds of protesters including women assembled and pelted stones on forces who responded to intense tear smoke shelling. Announcements are being made on loudspeakers in the mosques asking others to come out, a local told The Kashmiriyat. January 05 An Encounter started between militants and Government forces at Aripal area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama District on Saturday. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that 42 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police were fired upon by Militants during a cordon and search operation in the area. Immediately the troops cordoned off the area and the hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter. As per initial reports available to The Kashmiriyat two to three militants are trapped in a residential house in the area. A heavy exchange of fire was going on when this report being filed.

Gunshots Heard During CASO in Tral Area

January 05 Gunshots have been heard during a cordon and search operation at Aripal in Tral area in South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 42 RR of Indian army and Jammu Kashmir Police had jointly launched a search operation in the area on Saturday morning. The entry and exit points were blocked as the operation was launched. Massive gunshots have been heard in the area, sources said. However officials could not be reached to confirm whether a contact had been established with Militants or not. Details rushing in.

Unknown Gunmen Fire at a Civilian in Pulwama Area

January 04 Unidentified gunmen fired upon a person in Khasipora area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unidentified gunmen fired upon a civilian identified as Suman Singh S/O Nanak Singh, a resident of Khasipora in Tral. He was rushed to the nearby hospital for treatment, Reportedly his brother is said to be a Sarpanch. More details awaited.

Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that people in droves of dozens and hundreds singing songs of freedom and dirges of bravery marched towards the house of the MSc scholar turned Militant in Chursoo area of Awantipora. Youth in large numbers threw stones on the Forces who have been deployed in the area to thwart any kind of protests, the forces used immense force on the protesters. Tral Encounter Over- Bodies of Three Militants Recovered

January 03 Three Militants have been killed in a fierce encounter that started Thursday morning between Government Forces and Local Militants in Gulshanpora area of Tral. An official speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that a group of Militants hiding in the area opened fire upon a joint party of Government Forces in the area which resulted in an encounter. Earlier, he said, forces had, based on a credible input about Militant movement in the area, launched a cordon and search operation in the area. The Operation was jointly conducted by 42 Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force and Jammu Kashmir Police, he told. January 03 At least a dozen persons were injured during intense clashes that began in Tral area in South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Thursday. The youth in large numbers along with women and old men hit the streets after the news of the encounter spread in the area. People tried to make their way to the encounter site and Government forces fired tear smoke shells and pellets to disperse the protesters. January 03 A fresh encounter has raged between militants and Government forces at Mir Mohallah area of Gulshanpora in Tral belt of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat  that a joint team of 42 RR, SOG, Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation at Renzipora area on Thursday morning. During the search operation, the Militants opened fire on the forces, who retaliated and the initial exchange of fire continued for at least fifteen minutes, as per sources, However, nobody was injured as per reports.
