Violent Clashes Erupt in Pulwama Town

November 20 Violent clashes have erupted in Pulwama town of South Kashmir after the killing of four Militants in the Nadigam area of South Kashmir's Shopian District Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth shouting pro Freedom and Anti India slogans hit the streets and threw stones on Forces deployed in the area. Shopkeepers downed their shutters as a mark of protest against the killing of the youth. The Forces tried to disperse the youth by throwing tear smoke shells, however the clashes were going on, when this report was filed. Meanwhile train services to South Kashmir have been suspended. Mobile internet services have been suspended in three districts of South Kashmir.  

2 Army men injured in Militant Attack at Pulwama

November 18 An exchange of gunfire took place  between Militants and Government Forces in the Larve area of Kakapora in South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Sunday evening. Sources informed The Kashmiriyat that the Government Forces including 55 RR and 183 BN of CRPF had Jointly launched a search operation in the area after Militants hurled a grenade on a CRPF camp in Kakpora killing one CRPF man. The Militants who were intercepted by Government Forces opened massive fire on joint forces, triggering a massive exchange of gunfire. In the incident, two soldiers were injured, both of them have been rushed to the hospital.  

Labourer Dies After Falling from Under Construction Mosque in Pulwama

A labourer died on Sunday after he fell down from an under construction mosque at Wayan in Krew area of Pulwama district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the deceased identified as Tanveer Ahmad Zohda, son of Ghulam Mohammad, a resident of Chanjlow Banihal fell down from an under construction mosque in Wayan, resulting in serious injurious to the labourer. CRPF Man Killed in Pulwama Grenade Attack

November 18 Unidentified persons hurled a UBGL grenade on a camp of CRPF Camp in Kakpora area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District on late night on Sunday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown persons hurled a grenade inside the camp of 183 Battalion of CRPF, injuring one CRPF trooper, as per initial reports. The CRPF trooper was rushed to the hospital, however he succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital. The forces have launched  a massive manhunt to nab the attackers. Details Emerging.

CRPF Man Dies in Pulwama Road Accident

November 17 One CRPF personnel died in a road accident on Saturday afternoon near Awantipora on the Srinagar-Jammu highway. Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that a CRPF vehicle met with an accident near Chechkote area of Awantipora, resulting into injuries to one CRPF man who was rushed to Primary Health Centre Awantipora where he succumbed to his injuries. The slain CRPF personnel has been identified as Gulab Chand of 130 battalion of CRPF.

Forces Launch CASO in Pulwama Area

November 14 The Government Forces on Wednesday evening launched a cordon and search operation in Tangpuna area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday, the forces including 55 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police sealed all the entry and exit points to the area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Pulwama locality and are conducting a search operation in the areas. Passenger Vehicle Collides with a Truck in Pampore

November 14  A passenger vehicle on Wednesday met an accident on Srinagar-Jammu highway in Pampore area of Pulwama district leading injuries to the driver of the vehicle. Witnesses said that a Tata 407 vehicle driver sustained injuries after his vehicle collided with a truck on the Srinagar-Jammu highway near Galander in Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Police officials said that Matador bearing No JK04-1456 and Truck JK03D- 4643 collided with each other near bypass crossing Galander resulting in injuries to the driver. The driver of the vehicle has been shifted to a local hospital for treatment. Police have taken cognizance of the incident and taken up the investigations.

Two Militants arrested in South Kashmir, Claims Police

November 14 Police on Wednesday claimed to have apprehended two militants affiliated with Hizb Ul Mujahideen at Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Officials said that they had received inputs that there is movement of militants in Dugripora Panzgam area “Working on which a joint naka was established at Panzgam railway underpass by 55 RR, Awantipora Police and 185 CRPF late Tuesday evening,” he said. “At around 9.30 pm two persons were spotted going towards Panzgam who were asked to stop but they ran towards village Dugripora. The duo was chased and apprehended.” The officer said that upon their search one UBGL thrower, two hand grenades and some ammunition of AK series was recovered.
