PDP Worker Fired Upon by Gunmen in Pulwama

September 03 A worker of People's Democratic Party was shot at by unknown gunmen on Monday when he was coming out of Sports stadium in Pulwama. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that gunmen fired upon a PDP worker identified as Mehraj Ahmad Parra, son of Ali Mohd Parra, a resident of Naira Pulwama in South Kashmir. Officials however said that he has escaped unhurt and is safe.

September 03 A Youth identified as Fayaz Ahmed Wani from South Kashmir's Pulwama District has been killed after forces opened fire upon unarmed protesters during clashes that erupted in Chewakalan locality during a CASO. ALSO READ: Pulwama Youth Critical after being Fired upon By Forces During CASO Hospital officials confirmed to The Kashmiriyat that Fayaz Ahmed Wani, Son of Mohammed Ahsan Wani from Chewakalan Pulwama after being hit with a bullet during intense clashes that erupted in Chewakalan has succumbed to his injuries. The youth had been shifted to Srinagar for treatment, however upon reaching SMHS, he was declared dead.

Cousin of Riyaz Naikoo Arrested

September 03 The family of the cousin of Riyaz Naikoo has said that the Jammu Kashmir Police has detained his cousin Sheeraz Ahmad Naikoo. They said that Sheeraz was arrested by police from his residence in Beighpora in Awantipora area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Thursday and has been in jail since then. Asadullah and four others were detained on Wednesday during nocturnal raids at Tral and Awantipora areas of Pulwama district. Sheeraz who is a businessman had been detained the last year also but was released later. The Police officials were unavailable for comments on the issue. CASO Launched in At Least 18 Villages of South Kashmir, Intense Clashes Erupt

September 03 A massive cordon and search operation is underway in at least eighteen villages of Southern Kashmir which has lately emerged as a hot bed of Militancy. Officials informed The Kashmiriyat that a CASO has been jointly launched by three battalions of rashtriya Rifles including 44RR, 55 RR and 53 RR, two Battalions of CRPF, 183 BN and 184 BN and Jammu Kashmir Police. The operation has been launched following inputs about presence of Militant groups in the area, officials said. Clashes Erupt During CASO in Karimabad Pulwama

September 01 Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Karimabad area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Late night on Saturday, the forces including 55 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Karimabad area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Pulwama locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. September 01 A CASO has been launched in Beighpora area of Awantipora in South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Saturday afternoon. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 55 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and BN CRPF laid down the Search operation jointly. "The Operation was launched after troopers received a specific input about Militant movement in the area," Sources said. Meanwhile following inputs about Militant movement, the forces have jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Mantribugh area of South Kashmir's Shopian District. Militants Abduct Son of Another Policeman in Tral

August 30 Unknown gunmen  abducted a son of another policeman from Midoora village of south Kashmir’s Tral, sources said. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Nasir Ahmad Mir S/O policeman Ghulam Hassan Mir, was abducted from Midoora village on Thursday night. Nasir was reportedly abducted after gunmen  barged into his residence this evening. Meanwhile, reports also suggest that many SPOs were beaten by Millitants in the same village.

Forces Thrash the father of Police Officer in Tral

August 30 The Father of a sub inspector of Jammu Kashmir Police was allegedly assaulted by government forces in Tral area of South Kashmir's Pulwama district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a person namely Bashir Ahmad Bhat, who is the father of Sub Inspector Jammu Kashmir Police Tahir Bashir Bhat Of Tral was beaten up by Government forces at Nazneenpora Hayuna village of Tral. As per his family members, Bashir has got fracture in his arm and has been shifted for hospital for treatment. August 30 Despite growing encounters and repeated verbal attempts of the Army and Director General of Jammu Kashmir Police, SP vaid, Militancy is showing no signs of declination. In fact the Army General of India has been constantly asking the local Kashmiri youth to give up arms and asking people to keep their wards away from militancy.
