Grenade Attack on Forces in Lasjan

August 25 Unknown persons lobbed a grenade on a patrolling party of Government Forces at lasjan  on Saturday afternoon. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown persons hurled a grenade on the forces, but nobody was injured in the attack. A Local informed The Kashmiriyat that a massive explosion was heard creating panic among locals in the area. They said that the grenade missed the target and exploded near the main road at lasjan. The Forces have launched a search operation around the Lasjan area to nab the attackers.

CASO launched In Pulwama Area

August 24 A Cordon and Search Operation has been launched in the Putrigam area in South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Friday  afternoon. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Government Forces including 55 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police launched a joint Anti Militancy operation in the area following specific input about Militant presence in the Putrigam area. Locals said that a heavy contingent of Forces have reached the area and are conducting a search operation in the area. The search operation was going on when this report was filed.

House Gutted in a Fire Mishap in Sopore

August 24 Shabir Khan A residential house was gutted in a fire mishap in the Sopore town of North Kashmir's Baramulla district on Friday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a residential house in Sadiq colony Sopore belonging to one, Zaffar Ahmed War was damaged partially in a fire mishap which broke out on Friday morning. Policeman Shot Dead in Pulwama

August 22 Unknown persons on Wednesday shot at a Policeman in Louswani area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown gunmen fired at  Muhammad Yaqoob, a police constable outside his house at Louswani area of Pulwama. The Policeman was shifted to the nearby hospital immediately, but upon reaching the hospital the officials declared him dead. Earlier on Wednesday, unknown gunmen had killed a Policeman from Sangas area of South Kashmir's Kulgam District.

Youth Goes Missing from Pulwama, Has Likely Joined Militants

August 20 A youth has gone missing from his home in Bathnoora area in South Kashmir's Pulwama District since the last week. Locals from Bathnoora told The Kashmiriyat that Yawar Wani son of Ali Mohammed wani aged 19 has gone missing from his home in Pulwama. The family looked for their some everywhere, but could not locate him after which they said they filed a missing report in the Police Station, Locals said. There are rumours in the area that Yawar has joined the Militant outfit, Al Badr. Meanwhile a photograph of Yawar claiming that he has joined the Militant outfit. Clashes Erupt During CASO in Pulwama Area

August 19 Massive Clashes erupted during a CASO launched in Aglar area in South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 55 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police laid down the Search operation jointly. "The Operation was launched after troopers received a specific input about Militant movement in the area," Sources said. Scores of youth hit the streets when the Anti Militancy operation was launched and threw stones on troops amid intense pro Freedom sloganeering. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that the Forces fired tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters. The Search operation and clashes were going on when this report was filed.

Woman Allegedly Harassed by Forces dies after remaining on ventilator for 4 days.

August 18 Jana Begum, 50 from Arbal village of Pulwama district of South Kashmir breathed her last at SMHS where she was admitted before 4 days after allegedly harassed by government forces. Family Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Jana was on ventilator from last 4 days where she breathed she breathed her last today. As per locals, on Tuesday morning around 11:am government forces knocked the door of  Mohammed Ashan Malik however only two women were present there at that moment and they scared to open the gate. When nobody responded inside, forces jumped over the wall and entered into the house, they said. Why was our Mother Killed- Daughter of Pulwama Woman Asks

August 17 Unknown gunmen shot dead a 40 year old woman in Drabgam village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district in Friday afternoon. Identified as Shameema wife of Ali Mohammed Bhat was shot at her parental home at Drabgam village. Family members told The Kashmiriyat she came to Drabgam today morning and in afternoon some gunmen barged into house of her brother and fired upon her. Later they tried to shift her to hospital however she succumbed on the way. Her dead body was later shifted to Koil village of Pulwama district where she was laid to rest. Civilian Injured in Awantipora Grenade Attack Succumbs

August 17 A civilian who was earlier injured in a grenade explosion near the SP office in Awantipora in South Kashmir has succumbed to his injuries. Earlier Unknown persons hurled a grenade at the office of Superintendent of Police in Awantipora on Friday afternoon resulting in injuries to two persons, one of them has been critically wounded. A Police official posted in Awantipora confirmed the attack to The Kashmiriyat and said that one civilian had sustained serious injuries.
