‘Militant Associate’ Arrested in Tral

The Jammu Kashmir Police on Friday claimed to have arrested a militant associate in Tral area of South Kashmir's Awantipora. In a statement to GNS, the police said that acting on information, Awantipora Police with the assistance of 42 RR and 180 BN CRPF today morning conducted a search of a particular house in village Syedabad Tral. During search one person identified as Amir Ashraf khan son of Mohd Ashraf khan resident of Syedabad Pastuna Was arrested and 01 Chinese hand grenade was recovered from his possession which he has kept concealed in a plastic jar in the compound of his house. The statement further stated that a Case FIR No.109 / 2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered against the said militant associate in Police Station Tral.

Six persons have been arrested on charges of throwing grenades and for pasting “threat posters of election boycott” in Tral and Sangam areas in south Kashmir, officials said on Wednesday. “Police along with 42RR and 180 BN CRPF busted a (militant) associate network of Jaish-e-Mohammad involved in grenade lobbing incidents in Tral Pulwama and Sangam areas of Anantnag district,” a police spokesperson said in a statement to GNS. “The arrested (militant) associates have been in contact with Pakistani handlers and have targeted security forces by lobbing grenades in recent past,” he said, adding, “The arrested persons have been involved in pasting of threat poster of election boycott in Tral areas”. Militant Critically Wounded in Anantnag Gunfight Succumbs in Hospital

Salman Shah The Militant who was critically wounded during a gunfight with Government Forces in Gund Baba area of Sangam in South Kashmir's Anantnag district has succumbed to his injuries. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Zaheer Abas Lone, a resident of Inder area in Pulwama who was admitted in Shri Mahraja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital in Srinagar succumbed to his injuries. Zaheer, an affiliate of Hizb ul Mujahideen had recently joined the outfit and his audios were also circulated on social media. Pertinently an encounter raged in Anantnag on Thursday between Militants and Government forces at Gund Baba Khaleel, Anantnag during which te Forces arrested one local HM Militant Zaheer Abbas Lone. Zaheer was taken to the hospital by Police in a wounded condition.

Suspected militants fired upon Government forces in the Kadibal area of South Kashmir's Awantipora. An official said that on Thursday afternoon militants fired upon joint forces of Police and CRPF in the Kadibal area of Awantipora in south Kashmir's Pulwama district. A civilian was fired upon by militants on Friday evening in Wassura area of South Kashmir's Pulwama district. A senior Police officer told GNS that a civilian namely Mushtaq Ahmad resident of Wassura was fired upon. The officer further said that the said person was shifted to nearby hospital for treatment. His condition is said to be stable. Meanwhile whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers. (GNS)

Mohammed Mufeez Noor Mohammed Trali, a Renowned preacher from Tral area in Southern Kashmir's Pulwama district breathed his last on Thursday evening. Moulana Noor Ahmad Trali who was a resident of Tral Payeen passed away in a Srinagar hospital after a brief illness. He served the people of Tral for several decades and dedicated his entire life for the sevice of humanity, his death is being widely condoled. Noor Mohammed Trali was the president of Darul Uloom Noor Ul Islam in Tral. The Kashmiriyat team condoles the sad demise and expresses Solidarity with the family in this hour.

Approximately 50 sheep have been stolen from a cowshed in a hamlet in Tral town of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The incident occurred during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. Locals told news agency KNT that 50 sheep were stolen from the cow-shed of one Abdul Rashid Shah from Lariyar village. They said a report is being filed at concerned police station. Identified as Zahid Ahmed Lone, who is a resident of Braw Bandina area in Pulwama, Zahid was working for a private company in Gurgaon as per a family member. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the family member said that Zahid called his family on the 24th and since then his phone has been switched off.
