July  20 An Anti militancy Cordon and Search operation has been launched at Krangsoo of Mattan area in South Kashmir's Islamabad District on Friday Morning. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 1 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir police jointly launched the cordon and search operation in the locality. Following a specific input about Militant movement, the troops have launched a door to door search operation in the area. Details emerging.

One youth as per photograph has been identified as Irfan Ahmed Digoo Son of Manzoor Ahmed Digoo resident of Naina Batpora in Sangam area of South Kashmir. Irfan was a student of B.Sc First year before he went missing the last month from his residence in Batpora. Labourer Dies while Unloading Cement in Verinag

July 19 SHEIKH NADEEM/ WARIS SHAH A labour died on the spot when he was unloading cement at main market Verinag after a tipper dumper hit him on Thursday afternoon. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the labourer identified as Lateef Ahmad Cheechi son of Shams u Din Cheechi, a resident of Verinag area in South Kashmir's Islamabad died while he was unloading the cement. Police officials told The Kashmiriyat that his body has been handed over to his family for his last rites.

Dead Body of Youth Fished out in Pulwama

July 19 The body of a youth was fished our from Jhelum river in Lelhar Kakpora area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Thursday afternoon. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the youth who had gone for swimming in the river drowned and could not swim back to the shore, His body was later recovered by the locals but not before he had died. The deceased was identified as Amir Ahmed from Reshipora in Awantipora area of South Kashmir. Police officials confirmed the death of the youth to The Kashmiriyat.

Students Allegedly Beaten by Forces at Shopian

July 18 Several students of Sirajul uloom Higher secondary school Hillow Imam sahib were ruthlessly beaten by local army unit of 34RR located at Woyen imam Sahib, locals alleged. They said that students of class 8th and 9th were on way to their native village DK PORA however they were stopped by army near camp, taken inside and beaten up by the army men there. Bear Attacks a Man in Kulgam

July 18 One Person was wounded in a bear attack at Nadimarg area of South Kashmir's Kulgam District on Wednesday morning. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that one person identified as Shahnawaz Ahmad Bhat from nandimar was attacked by a bear when he was leaving for work early morning today. Locals managed to help Shahnawaz but not before he had been severely injured by the animal. He was immediately rushed to the Damhal Hanjipora hospital from where he was referred to District hospital kulgam. The Doctors at Kulgam District hospital told The Kashmiriyat that Shahnawaz is recovering from his injuries and is stable now. People from the area alleged that the wildlife department is not providing any assistance as the wild animals are roaming about freely.

Intense Stone Pelting Clashes in Pulwama Area

July 18 Intense Clashes have erupted on Wednesday morning in the Neva area of Pulwama in South Kashmir. Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that the clashes began after scores of youth started throwing stones on a Army vehicle that passed through the area. The troops tried to chase away the protesting youth and also called in Police and the CRPF who fired tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters. July 18 The residents of Moshwara Area in South Kashmir's Shopian District on Wednesday accused the Government Forces of excesses in the area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that forces barged into the area late night on Tuesday and forced their entry into the houses. "They assaulted all the inmates including old, women and children," a local Mansoor Ahmed from Moshwara Shopian told The Kashmiriyat. Mansoor said that the forces also vandalised the property of the locals and ransacked window panes of many houses. He said that at least six people were injured after troopers thrashed them.
