Massive CASO Launched in Pahalgam Area

July 17 The Government Forces on Tuesday Night have launched a cordon and search operation in Chanigam, Pahalgamarea of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag)n District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 3 RR of Indian Army, 96 Battalion of CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police have launched the operation. The anti militancy operation has been launched following a specific input about Militant movement in the area. A door to door search operation is being conducted by the forces after all the entry and exit points were sealed, a local told The Kashmiriyat. Details emerging.

Militants Attack Army camp in Pulwama

July 17 Suspected Militants on Tuesday Night fired a UGBL Grenade at the camp of 44 RR of Indian Army located in the Hawal area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the persons after hurling the grenade fired a few shots at the camp, however the alert sentry fired shots in retaliation forcing the attackers to escape from the spot. Officials Confirmed to The Kashmiriyat that nobody was injured in the attack. July  17 An Anti militancy Cordon and Search operation has been launched at Ladrimada of Bandina area inSouth Kashmir's Pulwama District on Tuesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 55 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir police jointly launched the cordon and search operation in the locality. Following a specific input about Militant movement, the troops have launched a door to door search operation in the area. Earlier a Cordon had been launched in Quimoh area of Kulgam  in South Kashmir. Details emerging.

July 17 Massive clashes have erupted during a Cordon and search operation in Astan Mohallah of Quimoh area in South Kashmir's Kulgam District on Tuesday. The Government forces have launched a siege around the area post which scores of youth shouting pro freedom slogans hit the streets. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 1 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF laid down the Search operation jointly. "The Operation was launched after troopers received a specific input about Militant movement in the area," Sources said. A Door to door search operation has been launched in the area.

July 16 One person was critically wounded in a tyre blast at Damhal Hanjipora Area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district late night on Monday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the tyre blast created panic in the area and many locals ran for cover after the blast sound. FIR Registered Against Tehsildar Dooru For Resuming Charge

July 16 On the directions of Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Baseer Ahmed Khan the Jammu Kashmir Police has lodged an FIR against the Tehsildar of Dooru. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the Tehsildar was placed under suspension the last month after he was found accused in allowance of Illegal Constructions on Srinagar- Banihal Expressway. The Tehsildar after being found guilty was immediately placed under suspension the last month along with three other employees of the revenue Department. Militant Attack in Pulwama, 2 Rifles Snatched

July 16 Unknown Gunmen on Monday opened fire on the house of a National Conference Leader Ghulam Mohuddin Mir in Muran area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. As per initial reports, the gunmen have fled away with two rifles after injuring two Policemen. The Injured Policemen who were Personal Security officers to the NC leader have been shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown gunmen opened fire at the guard post of Mir and snatched weapons from the Guards. Reports suggest that one of the Injured Policeman has succumbed to his injuries.
