An encounter has raged between militants and government forces in south Kashmir Kulgam district. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday afternoon, a joint team of Police, CRPF and Army launched a cordon and search operation in Tangmarg area of Kulgam. As the forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants opened fire upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight, they said.
