Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Friday produced a chargesheet against the former Sub-Inspector (SI) of Excise & Taxation Department, posted at Toll Post Lower Munda Qazigund. A policeman was killed allegedly in an accidental fire at Malipeth Kishtwar where he was posted on Naka duty, officials said on Friday. They said Constable Ajeet Singh of R S Pura Jammu suffered grievous wounds after his SLR rifle went off accidentally. In wake of fresh snowfall, the district administration Kupwara in north Kashmir has restricted the vehicular movement towards the border areas as a precautionary measure. An official communique, a copy of which is available with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), reads that "In view of the snowfall in border areas, slippery condition of roads and to save precious lives for accidental mishaps, it is requested to restrict the traffic movement on Kupwara to border areas." Mughal road, connecting Shopian and Poonch-Rajouri districts, was closed after fresh snowfall near Pir Ki Gali along the thoroughfare, officials said on Friday. DTI Mughal Road Qasam Choudhary told GNS that traffic was halted on the road amid snowfall. He said that the road will be reopened once the snow was cleared. The historic road was opened for all types of vehicular traffic on July 5 this year. Prior to it, the road was only allowed to be used for ferrying perishable items, mainly fruits.
