A minor girl from Assam who had been lured to the valley on the pretext of employment in an apple processing unit was rescued and reunited with her family in Assam. The minor girl had been lured to the valley on pretext of a job with an apple processing unit. However, on reaching the location, she realised that she had been deceived and was forced to work as domestic help. The girl managed to reach Railway station Anantnag where railway police, taking cognizance of the issue, immediately contacted the child helpline. Childline produced the minor before CWC who declared her as CNCP. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, locals said that the HT and LT wires are erected against the trees and sticks against residential houses in the area, which risks the lives of local residents. Jammu Kashmir Admin to Handover 122 Acres of Land to Airports Authority of India

The Jammu and Kashmir administration will soon hand over 122 acres of land to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to build a state-of-the-art 25,000 square metre new terminal building at the airport here, officials said. Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Raghav Langer informed about the development during a meeting to review the progress on demarcation of land for the new terminal, they said. The 122 acres or 974 Kanal of land has already been identified, the officials said, adding that it will soon be handed over to the AAI to build the terminal. Additional Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Law and Justice, Rajinder Kashyap in this regard has issued a formal order stating that the President of India is pleased to appoint Mohan Lal and Muhammad Akram Chowdary as judges of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh in that order of seniority with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices. Pakistan has declined use of its airspace for flights from JK's Srinagar to Sharjah, which was revived after 11 years. Due to the decision, the flight from Srinagar to Sharjah will be more than an hour longer as planes will have to fly via Udaipur, Ahmedabad and Oman. The flight will also be more expensive.
