February 19 The authorities on Tuesday relaxed Curfew in Jammu city for two hours. Authorities on Tuesday announced relaxation in curfew in Jammu in three areas from 11: 30 am to 1: 30 PM. They said that areas under the jurisdiction of three police stations including Peer Mitha, PS city, PS nawabad people can go out to buy daily and essential items. Meanwhile locals from Jammu division sought the immediate restoration of internet so that their routine activities are not hampered further.

February 19 Curfew continued on Tuesday for the fifth consecutive day in Jammu with authorities likely to take a decision on its relaxation later. “The curfew that was imposed on February 15 in Jammu city will continue today,” an official said. He said that a decision on its relaxation will be taken later in the day. February 18 Deputy Inspector General of police south Kashmir range, Amit Kumar sustained a bullet injury in his leg during an ongoing encounter between militants and forces at Pinglan village of South Kashmir’s Pulwama. “Yes DIG South Kashmir received a bullet injury in his leg but he is stable,” the officer said. So far four soldiers including a major and two militants of Jaish-e-Muhammad militant including the “mastermind of recent Lethpora suicide attack” were killed in the encounter. February 18 Amid a flare up in violence in Jammu post the attack on CRPF convoy in Pulwama district of South Kashmir, a 17 year old girl has went missing from the area. The family of the girl identified as Sameera Akhtar, told The Kashmiriyat over phone that Sameera had went to the nearby shop to purchase detergent powder. Residing in a rented accomodation in Bag e Bahu area of Jammu, she did not come back after that, his father told The Kashmiriyat.   One of the two Militants slain in the nocturnal encounter that raged in Pulwama's Pinglan area has been identified. February 17 Cracking down on pro-Freedom leadership in Kashmir, the government on Sunday withdrew security provided to five separatist leaders, meeting a long-pending demand by various sections. February 17 Mobile internet services were Saturday suspended in most parts of Kashmir while the network speed was throttled in other parts as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order, officials said. Mobile internet has been suspended in south Kashmir’s four districts of Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama and central Kashmir’s Srinagar and Budgam districts, they said. The officials said the network speed has been throttled in north Kashmir’s Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora districts. They said the high speed internet has been suspended as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order in the wake of alleged harassment of Kashmiri people in Jammu and outside the state. The trade bodies in the valley have called for Kashmir bandh on Sunday.
