January 22 Former Chief Minister of Jammu Kashmir, Omar Abdullah has urged the Bihar Government to protect the the burial ground of Yusuf Shah Chak, the last independent king of Kashmir. January 22 Various Schools have complained that they are being forced to participate in the republic day function scheduled to be celebrated on 26 January at Dak Bungalow of Islamabad (anantnag) district of South Kashmir. January 22 Militants on Tuesday noon attacked a patrol of Indian Army in South Kashmir's Pulwama District, Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Tuesday noon, Militants attacked a patrol of 55 RR in Gundipora area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. As per initial reports nobody has been injured in the attack. A Cordon and Search operation has been launched in the area to nab the attackers. However an Official denied any attack having happened and said that Army fired a few aerial shots after coming under immense stone throwing near Pahoo area of Pulwama.

January 22 Three Militants were killed in an encounter in Hapatnar forests of Chrar e Sharif area in central Kashmir's Budgam district on Monday. January 22 Rayees Shah Employees of National Health Mission (NHM) on Monday staged a protest  in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district demanding regularisation of their services. The employees while holding placards raised slogans against the government for “failing” to fulfill their demands. January 22 Two Militants have been killed in the encounter that started in the apple orchards of Shermal area in South Kashmir's Shopian District. The Government Forces including 44 RR Of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF had launched a CASO in Shermal orchards suspecting Militant movement in the area. January 22 A major snow avalanche has hit the Jawahar tunnel on highway connecting Jammu with Srinagar in wee hours of Tuesday. An official told The Kashmiriyat that the avalanche has blocked the entrance of the tunnel from Qazigund side. He said that a major clearance operation is underway adding that traffic has been suspended on the Srinagar- Jammu highway.

January 21 A cordon and search operation has been launched by Government Forces in Baramulla District of North Kashmir.
