Khardung La Avalanche- Five Dead Bodies Recovered

January 18 Five dead bodies have been recovered while efforts are on to trace the remaining five after ten people came under a snow avalanche at Khardung La pass in Jammu Kashmir’s Ladakh Friday morning. Disaster management department official, Aamir Ali said that five dead bodies have been recovered from the avalanche site while search operation is on to trace the remaining remaining five. Khardung La pass which is is 5,359 m (17,582 ft) high is gateway to the Shyok and Nubra valleys.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown persons on Friday noon hurled a grenade towards a CRPF vehicle at Ghanta Ghar Lal Chowk in Srinagar Kashmir. As per initial reports, nobody has been injured in the attack. However, several vehicles were damaged due to the explosion. Residents of Repora Ganderbal Facing Water, Electricity Crisis
