Youth injured in Road Accident at Baramulla

November 12 A youth identified as Sahil Ahmed was injured in a road accident at Sheeri in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that a private car bearing the registration number JK05D-4764 skidded off the road near Sheeri petrol station resulting in injuries to one person who was rushed to the hospital for treatment. His condition is stated to be critical.

One Militant Killed in Handwara Shootout

November 11 One Militant has been killed in a shootout  in an open field in Handwara near by Pass road after militants opened fire on a patrol party on Sunday afternoon. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Militants hurled a grenade on a party of Government Forces which was retaliated by Forces with firing resulting into the death of a Militant. The exchange of fire continued for some time and in brief exchange of gunfire one Militant has been killed and arms and ammunition have been recovered from his possession. However the identification of Militant is yet to be ascertained. Police said that reinforcements have been rushed to the spot.

CASO Launched in Bandipora Area

November 09 The Government Forces on Monday launched a cordon and search operation in Mantrigam Pethkoot area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Friday noon, the forces including 13 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police sealed all the entry and exit points to the area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Matrigam locality and are conducting a search operation in the areas. Minor girl dies after slipping into irrigation canal in Kangan

November 08 A minor girl died after she  slipped into a irrigation canal in Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district Wednesday afternoon. Officials said that 3 year old girl identified as Seerat Bashir daughter of  Bashir Ahmad Dar a resident of Lal Mohallah village of Satrina Kangan while playing near a canal slipped into it. They said the body of the little girl was fished out and immediately rushed to Sub District Hospital Kangan were the doctors declared her brought dead on arrival. After the legal formalities the body has been handed over the family for last rites.

November  07 Shabir Khan Government Forces have launched searches in outskirts of Handwara on Wednesday. Reports said that a joint team of Indian Army's 30 RR, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation at Mawar village of Handwara. Latest reports said that door to door search operation in the area has been conducted. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that following inputs about the presence of militants movement in the area cordon and search operation has been launched. Pertinently a search operation was launched earlier this day in North Kashmir's Bandipora village.
