Sharda University Student who had went Missing Joins Militancy

November 02 A 17 year old Kashmiri student who was roughed up by a mob of students at Sharda University in Greater Noida earlier this month, has joined Militancy. Sources informed The Kashmiriyat that the youth identified as Ehtisham Bilal, a resident of Srinagar's Khanyar Area who had went missing since the last three days has announced his entry into the Militant outfit, Islamic State Kashmir. Ehtisham Bilal was a first year student of Bachelors in Medical Imaging Technology (BMIT) and had been missing since Sunday from Greater Noida. The family had held protests in Srinagar's Press colony to demand the whereabouts of their son, today the photo of Ehtisham has been doing rounds over the social networking. At least 100 sheep, goats killed due to lightening in Rajouri

November 02 107 goats and sheep were killed while a dozen others were injured in a lightning incident in Alal Mangota area of district Rajouri in Jammu. On the directions of DDC Rajouri, Mohammed Aijaz Asad Sub Division official Thannamandi and District Sheep Husbandry Officer from Rajouri with a team has been rushed to the spot DDC Rajouri also deputed a team immediately to make assessment of the loss, officials said.

Braving Rain and Tear Smoke Shelling, Thousands Attend Militant Funeral in Sopore

November 02 Shabir Khan Intense Clashes broke out Friday in Sopore Township after the funeral of a militant killed in a brief exchange of fire with government forces late night on Thursday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Government forces deployed in the area fired tear smoke shells and pellets at the funeral procession of the slain Militant Naseer Ahmed Teeli in Sopore's Arampora. The youth retaliated  by hurling stones at the government forces. After a brief disruption, funeral prayers of Teli were offered at the Chinkipora Park, thousands of people attended the funeral prayers despite heavy rains. One Militant Killed In Handwara Shootout

September  01 One Militants has been killed in brief exchange of gunfire between militants and Government Forces at Yunoo area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday night. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that patrolling party of Army’s 22 RR was fired upon by the militants in the area. The fire was retaliated by the forces resulting in a brief exchange of gunshots which continued for some time. In this brief exchange of gunfire one Militant of Tehreek ul Majadin militant outfit was killed. A search operation has been launched as more militants are expected to be holed up in the area, Sources told The Kashmiriyat.

Two Militants Killed, Violent Clashes Erupt in Budgam

November 01 The killing of two unidentified militants by Government forces on Thursday has led to violent protests in Arizal area of central Kashmir's Budgam district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that youth in large numbers hit the streets in Harde Panzu and Arizal areas of Budgam as the news of the Militant killings spread in the area . Shouting pro independence and Pro Militancy slogans, youth hurled stones at the government forces who fired tear smoke shells and aerial shots to disperse the protesters. However, the clashes between government forces and protesters were going on when this report was filed. Meanwhile the Protesters allegedly attacked a OB Van of ANI with stones shouting slogan, "Down with Indian Media." 

Clashes During CASO in Palhallan Area

October 30 Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Palhalan area of Pattan in North Kashmir's Baramulla District. On late afternoon on Tuesday, the forces including  RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Palhallan area. 3 Army men Injured in Militant attack at Pantha Chowk

October 29 Three Border Security Force (BSF) personnel have been injured when suspected Militants attacked their vehicle at Panthachowk in Outskirts of Srinagar district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the militants late evening on  Monday opened fire upon the BSF vehicle at Panthachowk resulting in injuries to three troopers All the injured were rushed to nearby hospital for treatment after which the forces launched a search operation in the area, Police officials confirmed the attack. Naveed Jatt Not Among Militants Arrested in Srinagar

October 29 After a brief exchange of gunfire near a police barricade in the outskirts of Srinagar, near Narbal area on Monday, three people were arrested by the police. One person in the vehicle was injured in the retaliation gunfire from the government forces, while two others have been taken into custody by the police. As per the sources the three militants who have been taken into custody are identified as Aqib Dhobi, Zahid Rather and Tariq Sheikh, who are all from South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. October 29 The Government forces on Monday claimed to have arrested three militants near Noora Hospital in Narbal area of Srinagar. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that three militants were arrested after the militants opened the fire on Government forces near Narbal area in Srinagar on Monday afternoon. Militancy Growing- At least 160 Locals Have Joined Militancy in 2018 So Far

September 29 Nearly 160 Youths from Jammu Kashmir have been recruited into Militancy this year, the highest since 2010, officials said here. According to figures available to The Kashmiriyat till till October 25, nearly  163 youths have joined various Militant outfits with South Kashmir's Shopian district contributing the maximum of 50 so far. The number of local recruits in 2017 was 126, this despite at least 220 Militants being killed the last year. As per a report published in New Indian Express, many youngsters are joining the Militant outfits including Hizb ul Mujahideen, Lashkar e Taiba and Jaish e Muhammad.
