Three army troopers have been found allegedly involved in the molestation and making an abduction bid on a minor girl last week in Chewa area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district. A local news gathering agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) quoting unnamed officials reported that the three persons who were held on 10th February this month are army troopers. Family members of Zahoor Ahmad Rather, arrested last weekend by police with a claim that he is a top TRF militant involved in the killing of three BJP workers last year, on Monday staged a protest demonstration here, asserting that he is innocent and had nothing to do with militancy after he surrendered in 2006. The Jammu Kashmir police on Monday, claimed to have arrested two militant associates of two militant outfits of LeT and TUM in central Kashmir's Budgam district. In a statement, a spokesperson said that on 14 February during a Naka checking, Budgam police and 53 RR army arrested two militant associates of banned militant organization LET and TUM and recovered incriminating material including flags, banners and letter pad from their possession. Two barracks were partially damaged due to a fire that broke out at an army camp in the Dawar area of Gurez in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Sunday morning. An official said that the fire broke out from one of the structures of Army’s 40 Artillery camp at Dawar area of Gurez sector, following which fire tenders were rushed to the spot to control the fire. The Kashmiri Militant Hidayatullah Malik, who was recently arrested from Jammu, as per news reports had conducted a recce video at the office of NSA, Ajit Doval. Malik has revealed this during an interrogation after which the security cover of National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval has been beefed up. An affiliate of Jaish-e-Mohammed, Malik who is a resident of Shopian, was arrested on 6 February in Jammu.
