September 25 A Spontaneous shutdown is being observed in Shopian as a family from Keller area has come up and claimed that one of the Militants killed in a bandipora Gunfight was their son. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a family from Keller area of the district has claimed one of the slain five militants Muhammad Umar as their kin adding that the family is on way to the Bandipora to demand the body of the slain. Five Militants Killed in Bandipora are Locals, Says Hizb

September 24 Militant outfit Hizbul Mujhadeen Monday claimed that five militants killed in Sumlar Bandipora encounter are not foreigners but locals. At least five militants were killed in a two day long gun battle in Sumlar area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district. Army had already said that slain militants were non-locals. Hizb Operational Spokesperson Burhanuddin told news agency CNS that those killed in the gunfight were locals. “It was a group comprising five members who got trapped in Sumlar area and were killed in a long gun fight,” Burhanuddin said. Srinagar Boy Goes Missing, Police Seeks Help

September 24 The Jammu Kashmir police on Monday sought help of the general public to trace a missing minor boy Momin Ashraf Sheikh, 13. A police statement said that the boy’s father Muhammad Ashraf Sheikh, a resident of Chandpora Habbakadal reported to police station Kralkhud that his son Momin Ashraf Sheikh, left home on Sunday, September 23 to play cricket, but didn’t  return home. “After searching for him all over, they could not find him. The missing boy is wearing red shirt and blue jeans,” the police statement said. The police has already filed an FIR and taken up investigations. The police has requested general public to them on 9596770627, 9596347086, 9596222550 and 9596222551 if they find any clue about the boy.

Five Members of a Family Killed in a Landslide

September 24 Five members of a family, including three minors, were killed on Monday when their mud house was buried under debris after a landslide in the hilly Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said. The incident occurred in remote Gali Bhatoli village of Gandoh when the ‘dhok’ (mud house) of Noor Mohammad Gujjar was crushed under the debris, a police official said. He said villagers immediately launched a rescue operation and were later joined by a police team. Five bodies were pulled out from the mud house, the official said and identified the deceased as Bashir Ahmad (25), his wife Nageena (23), Zulfi Banoo (nine) and Mohammad Sharief (eight) and one-and-a-half-year old girl. September 24 Shabir Khan Unidentified gunmen killed a Civilian who was kidnapped from from Harwan area of Sopore in North Kashmir's Baramulla District late night on Saturday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Mushtaq Ahmad Mir who is a tailor by profession was abducted by masked gunmen from his house in Harwan locality of Sopore late night on Saturday. A Police official said that his dead body was found this morning in an orchard in Latishut village in North kashmir.

CASO Called off in Shopian, Pulwama Areas- Nothing Found

September 22 The Cordon and Search Operation launched by Government Forces in various areas of South Kashmir has been called off. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that the CASO that had been launched by 55 RR of Indian Army, 183, 184 BNs of CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police in eight Pulwama Villages has been called off after nothing was found in the area. Another CASO had been launched by Jammu Kashmir Police and 44 RR in Shirmal area of South Kashmir's Shopian District. Massive clashes had erupted in the area between youth and Forces in which at least eight youth were injured with pellets. The CASO in Shopian area has also been called off.

170 Illegal Clinics Sealed Across Kashmir
