At least 60 Civilians Shot Dead in 2018 So far

July 03 60 Civilians have been killed in Kashmir in the first six months of 2018, as per figures available to The Kashmiriyat. The year started on a bloody note when Fidayeen stormed into a Police Line in South Kashmir attack killing 08 Troopers. 105 Militants as reported earlier by The Kashmiriyat have also been killed during gunfights in Kashmir with Government Forces.’ The first civilian killings were reported on 06 January when a civilian was killed in Khudwani area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam District. Police Arrested HM Militant and an OGW

July 03 The Jammu Kashmir Police claimed to have arrested a Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM) militant, and an Over Ground Worker (OGW) from Kishtawar on Monday. They identified the Militant as Rameez Ahmed Wani and the over ground worker as Nissar Ahmed Ganie. The Police said that ammunition was recovered from their possession saying that with the arrests, a terror module of the HM outfit has been busted and their plot to carry out strikes at different places and revive militancy foiled. During sustained interrogation of Nissar Ahmed, Police recovered three magazines of AK-47 rifle from his possession along with 90 live rounds, they said.

Tourist Dies of Heart Attack, Girl Jumps into Jhelum in North Kashmir

The Government forces laid down a Cordon and search operation in area on Tuesday evening. 105 Militants Killed So Far in 2018

July 02 As of 30 June 2018, a total of 105 militants and 21 Government Force personnel have been killed in Kashmir this year, as per figures available to The Kashmiriyat. A unilateral ceasefire was declared by the Indian Government on 14 May when the Government forces were asked not to launch operations during Ramadan, during that month 24 Militants were killed. The Centre soon announced the resumption of intelligence-based cordon-and-search-operations in the state on June 17, 2018.
