August 28 The Article 35A took Kashmir by storm on Monday as thousands of students from valley wide came out in its defense after a fresh plea filed by BJP Spokesman, Ashwini Updhyay made news on the internet. Your Fight is Against us, Do not Trouble our Families, Lashkar Warns Forces

August 28 As highhandedness against the families of militants by government forces continues unabated, the Militant outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba on Monday challenged the government forces asking them to  fight them instead of their families. “Fight the Mujahideen (militants) not their houses. Refrain from entering houses and resorting to vandalisation. Otherwise, you will have to pay for it. And you wont be able to safeguard your houses,” says the militant belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba in a video message addressed to police personels . Adding that the militants will take further steps only after the policemen act, “We know who are vandalizing our houses and threatening our families. We request them to stop it. 215 People recruited into Jammu Kashmir Police today

August 28 215 recruits today joined the Jammu Kashmir Police at a passing out parade here, which was reviewed by the Director General of Jammu Kashmir police S P Vaid. ]The recruits hailing from different parts of the state had undergone training at the Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) in Samba district. “It is a great pleasure that you are joining the police force which has made a name for itself owing to its huge sacrifices in the fight against Militancy over the last 30 years,” Vaid said while addressing the fresh recruits. August 28 "You give less space to news related to the sufferings of the conflict, while Anti Freedom news is given front page space," Riyaz naikoo is heard saying in his nearly 12 minute fresh audio. Massive Fire Breaks out in Army Camp in Kupwara

August 28 A Massive fire has engulfed Army camp located in the Machil Sector of North Kashmir's frontier Kupwara District on Tuesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that fire tenders from various parts of the district have been rushed to the douse off the fire which is still spread inside the Army camp. "Efforts are being made to bring the flames under control," an Army official said. There have been no reports of immediate casualties, neither has the cause of fire been ascertained yet, Three Armymen have sustained minor burn injuries. A Local told The Kashmiriyat that massive blast sound are being heard inside the camp, which is a indication of the fact that explosives have caught fire inside the camp.  

First Batch of Hajis Reaches back to Kashmir

August 28 On Monday, 310 pilgrims have reached back to Kashmir and 650 more are scheduled to arrive till today from annual Muslim Pilgrimage of Hajj. Here at Srinagar Airport, hundreds of families gathered to welcome their relatives who came from the holy journey performed by 2 Million Muslims from worldwide. The IG of Jammu Kashmir Police and and other civil officers including Divisional Commissioner Kashmir. Militants attack House of NC Leader in Budgam

August 28 Suspected militants fired few shots towards the house of former finance minister and National conference senior leader Abdul Rahim Rather in Badipora village of Budgam district on Monday night. An official said that during intervening night, gunmen fired gunshots towards the residence of NC leader in Badipora village of Budgam. However, no damage was reported in the incident. NC leader was not present inside his house when the incident took place.

August 27 The Chinar Corps CDR along with Inspector General of Jammu Kashmir Police (IGP), SP Pani today visited Pahalgam and congratulated the forces for a incident free Yatra. The Commander of Sector 1, CO 3 Rashtriya Rifles, 1 Rashtriya Rifles were also present on the occasion. 15 Boys Left Militancy, South Kashmir Limping back to Normalcy, Says IGP

August 27 The Inspector General of Police SP Pani on Monday said that over 15 boys from South Kashmir have shun the path of militancy from past couple of months with the active role and support of their family members. He said police will help those youth in every possible way who want to join mainstream. “The graph of violence has come down drastically in some of the militancy affected areas of South Kashmir,” Pani told news agency CNS. “Yesterday, four youth were arrested in frontier district Kupwara when they were trying to ex-filtrate. We are questioning them and hopefully after counseling they will be rehabilitated,” he said. He also claimed that Little by little, some restive parts of South Kashmir are limping back towards normalcy.
