August 25 Four youth from North Kashmir have posed with Guns announcing their entry into Militant outfit, Al Badr. Waseem Ahmed Khan, 21 years old who is a resident of Kargama Locality in handwara area of North Kashmir's Kupowara District has joined the Militant outfit Al Badr. His photograph has gone viral over social Networking. 15 year old Boy Drowns in Sindh in Ganderbal

August 24 Rayees Shah A Teenage boy on Friday drowned  in Nallah Sindh near dumping park of Kangan in central Kashmir's ganderbal district. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a 15 year old boy named Nadeem bashir son of Bashir Ahmed Mir, a resident of Hayan Palpora slipped into the Nallah and drowned in the river. The Police however reached the spot and said that they have launched rescue operations to fish out the body of the young boy. A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that the Police is trying its best to find the body as soon as possible.

Drunk Husband Beats Wife to Death in Jammu

August 24 A young woman was beaten to death by her drunk husband in presence of her two children in the village in Basholi tehsil of Kathua district. The murderer, Rajinder Kumar of village Mahanpur beat his wife, Kiran Devi 23 mercilessly in presence of their two kids and inflicted serious injuries on her person resulting in her instant death. Reports said that Thakur Dass, the father of the accused informed the Jammu Kashmir Police about the murder. Thakur Dass told the police that his drunken son beat his wife Kiran Devi to death last night after a verbal fight took place between them.

Hurriyat postpones Shutdown Call

August 24 The Joint Resistance leadership consisting of Yasin Malik, Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar have decided to postpone the strike call scheduled for 26 and 27 August. The Hartal call has been postponed as the supreme court has deferred the hearing on the plea challenging special status of Jammu Kashmir to august 31. Earlier the separatist leaders had said Harrtal will be observed on 26 and 27 August.

123 Militants Killed So far in 2018

August 24 As of 24 August in the current year, a total of 123 Militants have been killed in Kashmir this year, as per figures available to The Kashmiriyat. A unilateral ceasefire was declared by the Indian Government on 14 May when the Government forces were asked not to launch operations during Ramadan, during that month 24 Militants were killed. The Centre soon announced the resumption of intelligence-based cordon-and-search-operations in the state on June 17, 2018. 15 Year Old Boy Electrocuted to Death in Dooru

August 24 Sheikh Nadeem A 15 year old boy was electrocuted to death in Dooru area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) on Thursday when he was repairing a electric wire at his home. Locals informed The Kashmiriyat that Shahid Ahmad Naikoo son of Ghulam Qadir Naikoo aged 15 Years who was a resident of Batagund Dooru died immediately after he was electrocuted on Thursday evening. August 21 Shabir Khan A massive exchange of gunfire is on at Ganopora in Yaroo area of Handwara in North Kashmir's Kupwara District on Tuesday afternoon. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that the 30 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the area. The Militants present in the area opened fire upon the troopers conducting a search operation in the area, triggering a gunfight. As per the initial reports, two to three Militants including local Militants are exchanging Gunfire with the Government Forces. The Kashmiriyat correspondent on ground, reported that massive gunfire is on denouncing the claim of many media houses that no contact has been established with Militants yet.
