Road Accident in Baramulla- 8 Injured

August 16 Atleast eight passengers sustained injuries after vehicle they were traveling in turned turtle at Nowpora wagoora village of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday. Sources said that a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK05-4851 was on its way to Baramulla from Khaitangan village when the driver lost control and vehicle turned turtle at Nowpora village, resulting injuries to eight passengers. All the injured were rushed to local hospital for  treatment.

Four Army Men Injured in Ongoing Encounter in North Kashmir

August 16 Four Government Force personnel have been injured in a gunfight that broke our between Militants and Government Forces in Nowgam Sector along Line of Control that divides Kashmir between India and Pakistan. Reports revealed that the gunfight began when a Group of Militants was intercepted by Army near the Sangam Post in Nowgam Sector along the LOC early morning on Thursday. In the exchange of fire, four Army men sustained injuries and were shifted to the hospital for treatment. A heated exchange of gunfire was on when this report was filed.

Illicit timber seized in Ganderbal

Meanwhile Forest department and forest protection in a joint operation on monday late evening has seized a maruti car which was ferrying medium quantity of illicit timber at Preng Head In Ganderbal District. According to officials, on a tip off, a nakka was laid by the Forest officials and forest protection at Preng head area of Kangan. August 15 Moments after Modi rejected the path of violence to resolve Kashmir issue, The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy has said that Kashmir is a part of India. Pakistan has occupied a part of it and we will take it back, he added. He also said that Major Aditya Kumar and Rifleman Aurangzeb deserve Shaurya Chakra as they sacrificed themselves for the country. In January this year, Major Aditya Kumar was embroiled in a controversy after his unit fired on a unarmed protesters in Ganpora in South Kashmir's Shopian leading to death of three young boys. On the other hand, Rifleman Aurangzeb, who belonged to the 44 Rashtriya Rifles, was on way back home on June 14.

Authorities Seal 12 Clinics in Qazigund

August 15 Block Medical Officer (BMO) Qazigund sealed twelve private clinics and two diagnostic centers in Qazigund area of Kulgam district for not following the guidelines of the health department. The authorities on Tuesday woke up to the mushrooming of diagnostic centers in the block Qazigund by sealing unregistered labs in the area. The owners of clinics and diagnostic centers were warned to make improvement and strictly adhere to all guidelines within one week otherwise stringent action will be taken against them. August 14 The Militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen is now shifting focus from South to North Kashmir. So far, their base has been South Kashmir, but after the Operation All Out and the heavy casualty the group has suffered, the Militant group, as per a report is planning to shift its base to North Kashmir. According to Intelligence Agencies of India, Hizbul is working on North Kashmir for two purposes. August 14 FIRDOUS QADRI Panic Gripped Srinagar's Lal Chowk area when local disallowed some unknown persons (non Locals) from hoisting an Indian Flag in the area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that some non locals (right Wing Activists) tried to hoist an Indian Flag at Lal Chowk Srinagar after which locals came out and snatched the flag. The Locals later staged a demonstration and shouted pro Freedom, pro Militancy and Anti India Slogans. The non-locals trying to unfurl the flag in the city centre were rescued by CRPF personnel deployed in the area. Some youth have also been detained by the Jammu Kashmir Police.
