Police Seizes 1400 Kilos of Drugs

August 06 The Jammu Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have busted a major drug racket as they seized 1400 kilograms of poppy husk from a truck in Kathua district, reports said. Detailing the incident Jammu Kashmir Police said that a fruit laden truck was intercepted by a joint party of excise department and police at toll post in Lakhanpur bordering Punjab. A search of the Punjab-bound vehicle led to one of the biggest ever poppy husk haul, the Police officials said. Forces Assault Youth in Tral

August 03 A Youth has been allegedly assaulted by Government Forces in the intervening night on Thursday and Friday after taking him into detention. Locals identified the young man as Mushtaq Ahmad Mir Son Of Ghulam Rasool Mir, Resident Of Lorgam Tral. They told The Kashmiriyat that he was beaten by forces’ for more than 3 Hours in Lorgam Tral village at around 03:00 pm, due to which his right arm is fractured and he is not able to move or sit.
