Search Operation Near Sunday’s Encounter Site in Khudwani

July 23 The Government Forces on Monday launched a Cordon and Search Operation at Wani Mohallah of  Khudwani area in South Kashmir's Kulgam District. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that vehicles of Government Forces including Police and RR of Indian Army reached the locality on Monday noon and started a search operation in the locality. Pertinently yesterday on Sunday an encounter had raged in the Wani Mohallah area of Kulgam district in which three houses were also razed to the ground and three Militants killed.

Sopore Teenager dies in Scuffle with Classmates

July 22 A teen died in a Srinagar hospital on Sunday a day after being injured in a scuffle between the class mates at Sopore area in North Kashmir. Police said that preliminary investigations reveal that the mishap occurred due to a scuffle between the classmates that led to the tragic killing of the boy identified as Zeeshan Banday of Naseem Bagh Sopore. SSP Sopore Javid Iqbal has told KNS that the boys have been identified and are being questioned.

127 Militancy Related Incidents in Past Two months

July 22 127 Militancy related incidents have been reported from Jammu Kashmir during the past two months as per a data compiled by Home Ministry of India starting May 16. The Data reveals that Militancy related incidents had gone up to 80 during the month of Ramadan when Indian Government had declared a unilateral ceasefire from May 16 to June 16 while 47 incidents have been recorded from June 16 to July 16. It further claimed that 14 Militant were and five Government Forces' personnel were killed during the Governor's rule as compared to 24 Militants and 10 troopers during the suspension of operations. Since the imposition of Governor's Rule on June 20, 95 cases of stone throwing have been reported while during the previous one month of ceasefire, 90 incidents were reported. ...

July 21 A group of engineering students from Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh have innovated a Solar Boat for Dal Lake, Srinagar. The boat was launched today in function held at Nehru Park, Dal Lake, Srinagar in which the D.C Srinagar, SDM, Srinagar, President, Shikara, and Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group were also present. 12 Students of B.Tech 1st Year namely Danish shafi (Khrew Pampore), Bilal Ah shah (Khrew Pampore), Umer Farooq (Shopian), Muskaan Qadir (Ganderbal) along with other team members have developed two seater boat with the load carrying capacity of 150 Kg.
