Kulgam Encounter- Mobile Internet Barred in Islamabad District now

June 23 Mobile Internet has been suspended in Islamabad District of South Kashmir on Sunday after an encounter raged in Kulgam District. A Telecom official told The kashmiriyat that they received a directive to shut the internet services in both the districts. 2 Militants Killed in Kulgam Encounter- Ops Continue

June 23 Two Lashkar-e-Taiba militants have been reportedly killed in an encounter with Government forces in Chader, Matalham area of South kashmir's Kulgam district on Sunday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that one of the Militants is believed to be a top commander of Lashkar e Taiba. The encounter began on Sunday afternoon when Militants opened fire on a party of 1RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF, who were carrying out operations in the area. The Gunfire is still on and massive clashes that erupted near the encounter site have intensified as people are trying to make their way to the encounter site from the nearby areas. The identity of the Militants has not been confirmed as of yet, Further details are emerging.

June 23 (Mohammed Ashraf Ganie) An encounter has started between Militants and Government Forces in Chadura Motalhama of Quimoh area in South Kashmir’s Kulgam District. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that 1 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly launched the Anti Militancy operation. The Encounter started when Militants fired on a patrolling party of Government forces. Earlier Forces had launched a Cordon and Search Operation in the area upon receiving a specific input about the presence of Militants in the area, Sources told The Kashmiriyat. 2-3 Militants are believed to be trapped in the area, Local sources told The Kashmiriyat. June 24 (IMAGE USED FOR REPRESENTATION) Mohammed Ashraf Ganie The Government Forces have locked all the entry and exit points to the Ashmuji area in Quimoh belt of South kashmir's Kulgam District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that troops from Indian Army's RR, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police following specific input about MIlitant movement in the area have launched a massive search operation in the area. This is the second cordon in the area since yestertnight, Government forces had to call off the search operation in the locality after nothing was found in the area late night on Saturday.
