February 10 A woman was assulated by Jammu Kashmir Policemen in Karewa, Manloo area of Shopian district in South Kashmir on Saturday night. Police has ordered a probe after a video went viral in which few cops were beating a woman in a Shopian village. The video showing police men manhandling woman at a village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district has started doing rounds on social media since Sunday morning. The police has taken cognizence of the video and initiated an enquiry. February 10 A cold wave continued in the Kashmir Valley and the Ladakh region on Sunday as the weather office said same weather conditions were likely to prevail for two more days. "We are not expecting any major change in the weather conditions during the next two days till February 13 when a spell of light rain and snow is expected in the state," an official of the MET Department said. February 10 The Jammu-Srinagar national highway remained closed on Sunday for the fifth consecutive day due to snowfall and landslides, officials said. Traffic department officials said there has been fresh snowfall in the Banihal area, and landslides at some places in the Banihal-Ramban stretch of the road. “Around three feet snow accumulated on the road. Landslides have occurred at Anokhi Fall, Panthal and Kela Mode,” a traffic department official said. “No traffic movement will be allowed on the highway on Sunday except for the stranded vehicles and that too, only after the road is cleared,” the official added. February 08 At least seven dead bodies were recovered from the debris of an avalanche in the rescue operation at Jawahar Tunnel that was started after an avalanche hit the tunnel on Thursday evening. Landslide Hits Ramban, Two Killed

February 08 Two persons including an assistant accounts officer (AAO) were killed in a landslide on Jammu-Srinagar Highway in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir Friday, officials said. The victims were crossing a landslide zone on foot in Maroog area, when landslide suddenly hit them, they said. The deceased have been identified as AAO Pramod Mankotia, resident of Himachal Pradesh, and Sanjit Lakara of West Bengal. The bodies have been shifted to district hospital Ramban for further formalities, the official added (PTI)
