Clashes During CASO in Palhallan Area

October 30 Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Palhalan area of Pattan in North Kashmir's Baramulla District. On late afternoon on Tuesday, the forces including  RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Palhallan area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Baramulla locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. 3 Army men Injured in Militant attack at Pantha Chowk

October 29 Three Border Security Force (BSF) personnel have been injured when suspected Militants attacked their vehicle at Panthachowk in Outskirts of Srinagar district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the militants late evening on  Monday opened fire upon the BSF vehicle at Panthachowk resulting in injuries to three troopers All the injured were rushed to nearby hospital for treatment after which the forces launched a search operation in the area, Police officials confirmed the attack. Naveed Jatt Not Among Militants Arrested in Srinagar

October 29 After a brief exchange of gunfire near a police barricade in the outskirts of Srinagar, near Narbal area on Monday, three people were arrested by the police. One person in the vehicle was injured in the retaliation gunfire from the government forces, while two others have been taken into custody by the police. As per the sources the three militants who have been taken into custody are identified as Aqib Dhobi, Zahid Rather and Tariq Sheikh, who are all from South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. October 29 The Government forces on Monday claimed to have arrested three militants near Noora Hospital in Narbal area of Srinagar. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that three militants were arrested after the militants opened the fire on Government forces near Narbal area in Srinagar on Monday afternoon. Militancy Growing- At least 160 Locals Have Joined Militancy in 2018 So Far

September 29 Nearly 160 Youths from Jammu Kashmir have been recruited into Militancy this year, the highest since 2010, officials said here. According to figures available to The Kashmiriyat till till October 25, nearly  163 youths have joined various Militant outfits with South Kashmir's Shopian district contributing the maximum of 50 so far. The number of local recruits in 2017 was 126, this despite at least 220 Militants being killed the last year. As per a report published in New Indian Express, many youngsters are joining the Militant outfits including Hizb ul Mujahideen, Lashkar e Taiba and Jaish e Muhammad. Lolab Residents Accuse Forces of Vandalization

October 27 The Locals in Cheerkot area of Lolab in North Kashmir's Kupwara District have accused the Government Forces of vandalization in the locality during nocturnal raids. Locals from the area told The Kashmiriyat that forces barged into several houses in this Lolab area and smashed the window panes and the doors of the houses. "People normally think, house (shelter) is a safe space, but we Kashmiris are not safe even in our houses, Forces enter our houses and do whatever they want," a Cheerkot resident told The Kashmiriyat. They said that forces also abused men and women and before they left they had caused a huge damage to civilian property. An Official refuted the claims and said that the forces do not conduct such 'uncivil' behavior.

October 27 Restrictions have been imposed in most of the towns in the Kashmir valley on Saturday as the valley has shut down from North to South against the landing of Indian army in the valley on the same day in 1947.
