October 21 Sajad Hameed A woman died of an electric shock in Khansahib area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Sunday morning. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a woman identified as Shafeeqa Bano, a resident of Hokhlitri village in Khan Sahib received an electric shock while repairing an electric heater at her residence on Sunday morning. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared her dead. The Jammu Kashmir Police has taken cognizance of the matter.

October 20 Independent candidates have swept the polls in Municipal committee Ganderbal by being declared winners in 13 out of total 17 wards in the recently- concluded polls. However, BJP and Congress have won two wards each. There were a total number of 17 wards in Municipal committee Ganderbal.

October 20 SHABIR KHAN An 18 year old youth drowned while fishing in a pond at Chandigam area of Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Shaheen Ahmad Mir (18) son of Abdul Rashid Mir of Chandigam, Lolab along with his friends had gone for fishing when he slipped and drowned in Mir Ser (pond) in the locality. The friends and others tried to evacuate him but he died on spot. A police officer confirmed the death of the youth.

The Bhartiya Janta party has won 53 of the 132 wards in South Kashmir where polls were held in four phases earlier this month. The unprecedented victory for the right wing party has given it control of at least four of the 20 civic bodies in the four districts of South Kashmir. October 20 With the elimination of six more Militants in the last 24 hours in different incidents across Kashmir valley the security have come closer to breaching the previous year tally of 213- highest after 2010 when 270 Militants were killed in the joint operations. According to official sources since January 1, 2018 till date a total number of 193 Militants have been killed by the joint teams of security forces in the State. October 19 The Government on Friday locked down the Jamia Masjid of Srinagar for the second consecutive Friday disallowing congregational Friday prayers. October 19 Four militants have been killed by Indian Army near the Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir's Baramulla district. The Police has not confirmed the incident unless the bodies of the slain militants were recovered, the Army sources confirmed it saying that the encounter took place in the Boniyar forests of Uri sector on Thursday evening. "Four unidentified militants have been killed in this operation. Searches are now going on in the area," the sources said.

October 19 Militants late night on Thursday ambushed a Casspir vehicle of Indian Army on Pulwama- Lassipora area in South Kashmir's Pulwama district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that that militants detonated an IED on the the Casspir vehicle of 55 RR of Indian Army as it passed on the Pulwama- Lassipora road through the Trichal Bridge, injuring seven soldiers of Indian Army. The injured Soldiers were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) has claimed responsibility for the attack.
