Kashmir police announces reward for deserter SPO

September 29 The Jammu Kashmir police on Friday announced a cash reward for any information leading to the arrest of an SPO, who fled with seven rifles and a pistol from the house of a lawmaker here. A police spokesman said that Rs 2 lakh reward will be given to anyone who gives information about the deserter cop and the weapons. SPO Aadil Bashir posted as security guard with senior PDP leader and MLA Wachi decamped with seven service rifles and a pistol from the Jawahar Nagar residence of the lawmaker sending the entire security grid in a tizzy.

772 Candidates file Nomination for Municipal Polls in four Districts of Jammu Kashmir

September 28 As many as 772 candidates filed their nominations in Kathua, Udhampur, Doda and Ramban districts of Jammu and Kashmir for the second phase of urban local body (ULB) elections on the last day of filing nominations, election officials said Friday. Nominations were filed by 380 candidates in Kathua district Thursday, followed by 198 in Udhampur district, 120 in Doda district and 74 in Ramban district. The candidates have filed nominations for five municipal committees and one municipal council of the district, the officials said, adding 266 men and 114 women are in fray for the polls. In 80 wards of Kathua district, 380 nominations have been filed, of which 152 came from national parties, 30 from regional parties, and 198 nominations were filed by independent candidates...

Intense Clashes Erupt During CASO in Bandipora Area

September 28 Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Onangam area of North Kashmir's Bandipora District. Late night on Thursday, the forces including 27 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Onangam area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Bandipora locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. Beacon Official Killed in Army Ambush in North Kashmir

September 27 A non local official of beacon department was killed in an ambush laid at Sayeedan Pathra Kakva Gali kralpora in northern Kashmir’s kupwara district on Thursday morning. Reports said that, an ambush was laid in the said area by Army’s 3 JAK unit. “We are ascertaining the details and identification of the person,” Police officer said. At least 15 Injured in Clashes at Budgam, Srinagar Clashes

September 27 At least nine pellet who were hit with pellets at Panzgam area in Budgam are being treated at SHMS hospital on Thursday afternoon. Sources told The Kashmiriyat youth including girls in large numbers hit the streets of Panzan Budgam and threw stones on Government Forces, the forces responded with immense tear smoke shelling in which at least ten people were injured. Soon after the news of the killing of two militants in Panzan area of Budgam, the youth took to the streets and clashed with government forces, resulting in injuries to many protesters. Eight people were also received in SMHS from the downtown area of Srinagar.

2 Militants Including Former Policeman Killed- Budgam Gunfight Over

September 27 Two Militants have been been killed in the ongoing gunfighit in Panzan area of Chadoora in Budgam District of Jammu Kashmir on Thursday. Officials told The Kashmiriyat The Forces including 53 RR, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF laid a joint operation in Paznan area of Chadoora in Budgam and cordoned off the locality. They said the militants holed up in the area opened fire upon the forces, triggering a gunfight. "The Encounter has been called off," Officials told The Kashmiriyat. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that one of the slain Militants has been identified as Irfan Ahmed Dar, the SPO who went missing from his Police Duty 22 June this year. The authorities have also suspend the Mobile internet Services in the central Kashmir District.

September 27 One civilian has been killed during an encounter in Nowpora area of Srinagar District on Thursday morning. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that one civilian has been killed as an encounter raged in the Nowpora area of Srinagar. As per initial reports, the Civilian who was killed was identified as Mohammed Saleem. Three gunfights raged in Noorbagh area of Srinagar, Qazigund area of South Kashmir’s Islamabad (Anantnag) District and Chadoora area of Budgam. However, Militants have escaped the site of the gunfight in Noorbagh Srinagar, but the search operations are still on to nab two Militants who have escaped the site of the encounter.
