September 27 Three encounters raged in the Kashmir valley early morning on Thursday in three different parts, as Government Forces continue to tighten their noose over Militancy. September 24 Militant outfit Hizbul Mujhadeen Monday claimed that five militants killed in Sumlar Bandipora encounter are not foreigners but locals. At least five militants were killed in a two day long gun battle in Sumlar area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district. Army had already said that slain militants were non-locals. Srinagar Boy Goes Missing, Police Seeks Help

September 24 The Jammu Kashmir police on Monday sought help of the general public to trace a missing minor boy Momin Ashraf Sheikh, 13. A police statement said that the boy’s father Muhammad Ashraf Sheikh, a resident of Chandpora Habbakadal reported to police station Kralkhud that his son Momin Ashraf Sheikh, left home on Sunday, September 23 to play cricket, but didn’t  return home. “After searching for him all over, they could not find him. The missing boy is wearing red shirt and blue jeans,” the police statement said. The police has already filed an FIR and taken up investigations.
