Cordon Lifted from Batamaloo- Full Story

August 12 The Government Forces after conducting Massive search operations in the Batamaloo locality of Srinagar have lifted the siege after nearly seven hours. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Earlier Government Forces had laid a siege around Deyarwani area of locality around 3 am and at approximately 4 Am, they came under massive gunfire from Militants. In the initial exchange of gunfire, one trooper identified as Sgct Parvaiz was killed and three other were injured. One civilian identified as Mohammed Shafi, who is believed to be the house owner has also sustained injuries. A group of three militants was believed to be trapped in the area. Militants Reportedly Escape after a Brief Gunfight in Srinagar

August 12 An encounter has started between Militants and Government Forces in the Deyarwani area of Batamaloo locality  in Srinagar early morning on Sunday. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that CRPF, Jammu Kashmir Police and jointly launched the Anti Militancy operation. The Encounter started when Army was fired upon by a group of Militants near the Unani Hospital in the Deyarwani area. In the initial exchange of fire, three Government Force personnel including two CRPF Men, one Jammu Kashmir Policemen were injured while one JKP Cop was killed. Family Welfare Employees Demand Salary- Protests Go Unnoticed

August 11 The employees of Jammu Kashmir family welfare and immunization have been protesting in the Pratap Park Srinagar for the past three days demanding salary. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the workers have been deprived of salary for the past six months, but the issue has went unnoticed. BJP Does not Have Guts to Abrogate Article 35A, Says BJP MLA

August 11 Gagan Bhagat, the BJP MLA from RS Pura in Jammu has dared his party to abrogate Article 35 A, which grants special status to Jammu Kashmir. JKCSCC Calls for Complete shutdown on August 27

August 11 The Jammu Kashmir civil society coordination committee (JKCSCC) has called for a complete shutdown on August 27 against the attempts to abrogate the special status of Jammu Kashmir. “Safeguarding Article-35A is our responsibility. Every citizen of Jammu Kashmir, irrespective of caste and religion is ready to give up his life to defend the special status of Kashmir,” JKCSCC leader Mufti Nisar-ul-Islam said while addressing a Press conference in Srinagar.
