Over 1000 cases of cancer registered at GMC Anantnag during last 3 years

The Department of Radiation Oncology at GMC-associated hospital Janglat Mandi Anantnag has registered approximately 1,000 cancer patients in the last three years, reflecting a concerning rise in cancer cases in Jammu Kashmir. Over 1,200 chemotherapy sessions were completed at a cost of over one crore rupees, and were provided free of cost to most patients under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme. According to hospital authorities, around 6,000 patients have been registered at the Department of Radiation Oncology, SMHS Hospital GMC Srinagar since 2017. The Regional Cancer Center at SKIMS Soura registered approximately 14,000 new cancer patients in the last three years as a total of 4,737 cancer cases were reported in the year 2021, up from 3,840 cases of cancer in 2020 while 5284 new patient...

One more militant has been killed after security forces foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in Uri sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday, officials said. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a group of militants was trying to sneak into this side of the LoC taking advantage of low visibility and bad weather. He said that they were challenged by alert troops deployed on the LoC and during the exchange of fire one militant was killed. Baramulla court seeks explanation from Tehsildar over ‘wilful disobedience’ of its order

A local court has sought explanation from Tehsildar Baramulla over "wilful disobedience" of its order restraining him from interfering with a construction work. In an order, a copy of which is in possession of news agency—Kashmir News Observer(KNO) the sub-judge Baramulla has directed Tehsildar to explain what made him commit wilful disobedience of the order passed by the court on November 10. “It is therefore, to direct and require you explain your position as to what has made you to commit wilful disobedience and disrespect of the order of this court and so also to show cause that as to why the action under law be not taken against,” the court said. Doda road accident: Death toll climbs to 35, over two dozen hospitalised

At least thirty five (35) persons died and others were injured in a road accident at Assar area of Doda district in Chenab valley. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday a  bus registered under the number JK02 CN 6555 met an accident near Trungal Assar in Doda when it was on the way from Kishtwar to Jammu. They said that a total of 55 persons onboard were wounded during the road accident who were rushed to the hospital. "Thirty five people have succumbed to their injuries," an official said.
