Police organises ‘Padh Yatra’ in Kulgam villages

In a proactive effort to address social issues and foster community engagement, Police organized a Padh Yatra (foot march) in Redwani, Hawoora, Katran, Kujjar and Frisal villages of Kulgam district. In a press statement, Police said, the initiative was led by Senior Superintendent of Police Kulgam Sahil Sarangal-IPS along with DDC Frisal Anaytulla Rather and other senior officers of police Kulgam. During the Padh Yatra, SSP Kulgam engaged with the respected citizens of these villages, providing them with an open platform to voice their concerns and grievances. One dead after hit by CRPF vehicle in Srinagar

One youth died after a bike was hit by a CRPF vehicle at Baghat Chowk area of central Kashmir Srinagar district on Saturday afternoon. The two wheeler bearing the registration number JK01 AM 4913 was hit by a CRPF vehicle near Chinar chowk in Srinagar after which locals rushed to the spot to help the injured rider. The injured, however, succumbed on the spot. As per locals, the deceased civilian was identified as Manzoor Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Ahmad Wani, resident of Budgam Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident.

28-year-old missing Hajin man found dead

A 28-year-old missing sumo driver of north Kashmir's Hajin was found dead on Saturday, sources said. Sources told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that the dead body of Manzoor Ahmad Khan, son of Late Nazir Ahmad Khan of Paribal Hajin, who had been missing since last week, was recovered from the river Jehlum today morning. Sources said that the body was found by locals at Nechyari Jhelum. Meanwhile, a police officer told News Agency Kashmir Scroll that after legal medical formalities, the body will be handed over to family for last rites. (KS)
